Grin and Bear It

I have to go back to work tomorrow. The lazy-person part of me wants to milk my wisdom teeth one more day and see if I can have another day off, but I really feel fine...so I can't do that with a clear conscience. I know that a lot of people don't like going to work, but I feel like I'm worse about that than most people. I really want to find a job that I actually like, instead of dreading every second I am at work. Honestly the only reason I need a job is so that I can have a house someday, and maybe some children.
I have so many other things that I want to do...and I can't really even try them now that I have a job. It's an adult realization that came unexpectedly soon for me...what happened to my childhood? Does anyone else feel that way?

Sean and I like to go to random stores where we live and just poke around looking at all the nicknacks. Each place has their own unique inventory, so it is fun to look at all of the different items together and just hang out and laugh at all of the silliness wondering who buys all of that crap...It's also a fun thing to do when you're sick of sitting at home on the weekends-it gets us up and walking when it's too hot to go walking outside.

This top is like my dream. If I could design a top, this would probably be what I would come up with from my mind. It has a peter pan collar, is a nice, light material, and has an open back with a tie. Not to mention the sleeves slit completely down the entire length of the sleeve-such a fun detail! I felt so cool and breezy in these flowy shorts that I paired with it.
And thank goodness for a scarf to hide my unruly hair!

Sunday evenings always come too quickly for me...here's to another week!
God Bless,
KJA

My Comfort Zone

This is what I wore yesterday. Somehow I managed to not really get bad chipmunk cheeks from having my wisdom teeth out-I look relatively normal! Definitely opted for comfy clothes though-taking advantage of the cooler weather to wear a soft summer scarf. Scarves are my comfort zone! I always feel like myself when I wear one :)

I found this blouse at Charlotte Russe and just loved how the back was so long! I don't like feeling very exposed so it was a definite selling point for me. Not to mention how basic this top is-I'm already planning so many outfits around it for every season!

I still have most of my teeth! See?

Hubby and I are into the olympics tonight. I love the olympics. I don't watch sports any other time, but there is just something that makes me feel so patriotic about watching them. Go team USA! Already today we've seen women's volleyball, men's and women's beach volleyball, swimming, and men's gymnastics-huzzah!

God Bless all and happy weekending :)

Anniversary

July 24, 2012

Sean and I celebrated our second anniversary on Tuesday! It's been a rough couple weeks for me health-wise, but we still tried to do something special for our day. We did the classic thing that a lot of couples do-we saved the top tier of our wedding cake to share on our anniversary...well during our first anniversary we were out camping with Sean's family and didn't get around to eating it. We decided we'd save it for our second, even if the cake would be no good anymore! haha. So we got out the cake this year and fed each other a bite for nostalgia :) It wasn't actually that bad for being two years old, albeit a little dry! We were pleasantly surprised :) Even though most of it ended up in the trash afterwords...it was fun! We then spent the evening like the nerdy couple we are- watching old episodes of Dr. Who and trying not to touch one another because I was still quite ill and didn't want to get Sean sick. He's been sleeping on the floor for nearly a week now! Poor guy...
I love him so much :) I don't know what I would do without him to continually take care of me and be there for me during all of the crazy ups and downs of our first two years so far together. Hopefully the next two years will bring a renewing of health and happiness and much less stress than the last two years have brought for me personally. Praise the Lord for my amazing hubby :D

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud
or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday. It wasn't actually that bad. I don't even remember getting home, basically just waking up on our couch is what I remember. They gave me all of this stuff to clear up my cold so that I could go through with surgery and that was probably the worst part- I didn't like spraying stuff up my nose thank you very much! I guess they had to keep me in a mask also because I kept coughing all over the doctors....oops! Today I basically feel fine, just similar to how I felt when I had braces which isn't really that bad. I only had my two upper teeth taken out, so I'm doing better than most people probably!

Hopefully you all had a lovely week! Here's to the weekend!
God Bless :)

Thank Goodness for Netflix...

I was supposed to get my wisdom teeth out yesterday. However, the fever of 102 degrees I contracted required the appointment to be cancelled....sigh. I got some nasty virus which left me bedridden for nearly two days. So today, with my fever at bay, Sean and I decided to go walk around the mall for a little while. I figured it would get me up and walking around without having to withstand the heat outside. Plus (surprise, surprise) shopping made me feel quite a bit better and I even got a couple of fun purchases! Talk about literal retail therapy. Anyway, I got out my trusty 7up to make sure that I got my fluids ;) (is that what you drink when you are sick?) and now I'm back on the couch eating tylenol and ice cream and soup. One hour out of the house was about all I could stand. Thank goodness for netflix! I really have been getting sick a lot this year (due to exposure to tiny children who sneeze on your face) and I don't know what I would have done without netflix...gone, like, crazy I suppose. My latest show is My Fair Wedding-makes me want to get married a second time!
Hope your Saturday was peachy keen!
God Bless!

Liebster

I have exciting bloggy news! The very beautiful Bethie the Boo has given to me the Liebster award! She states in her blog, "The Liebster award is given to upcoming bloggers who have 200 followers or less. The meaning of Liebster in German is sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome". How very sweet! You simply must check out her lovely blog and her charming, colorful style. Go...now!!

The rules for the award:
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you've tagged to answer.
3. Choose 11 people and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.
5. No tag backs.

Here were the questions I was supposed to answer:

1. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
I'm definitely a tried and true chocolate gal when it comes to ice cream. Occasionally I will branch out and add other things of the chocolate variety to my chocolate ice cream, but I could probably eat like a whole gallon myself...without stopping...every hour...haha!

2. If money was no object, where would you like to travel most?
I'm not much of a traveler, but if I had the money there are certainly a few places I'd love to go. The first place that comes to my mind is Kenya, because I sponsor a child through Compassion from Kenya. I would love to go visit my child and see where/how they live and get a chance to meet their family face to face instead of just exchanging letters.

3. Describe to me your perfect day off.
I am such a pile on my days off. I love to get up early and make a really big breakfast, something that I normally don't have time to make on a work day. Then I'll sit on the couch and maybe watch a show on tv (which I rarely watch) while I eat my breakfast :) If I'm feeling ambitious I will go for a run at our lovely trail in town. After taking my time getting ready my favorite thing to do is....da da da daaaaaa- go thrifting! It really is my favorite thing to do on a day off. Even if I don't end up buying anything, I love to go browsing and see what kinds of things I can find to look at :) I like to look in the home section and dream about how I will decorate my house someday with pretty colored glass and vintage knickknacks. So fun! Of course I have to finish off the day with spending time with my husband-cooking a fun supper and maybe watching a movie or two! :D

4. What's your favorite guilty pleasure?
Ok, don't think I'm horrible for this...but I like to hulu episodes of the bachelor and bachelorette....I know it is the most terrible show!!! I think I like to watch it so that I don't feel so bad about my own life...haha. I watch it more as a comedy than a serious drama!

5. What is your favorite season?
I love fall so much. I do much better (physically and mentally) in cooler weather, so I love when there is a little nip in the air and I get to layer all of my sweaters and scarves! I'm much better at dressing for cooler weather than in hot weather. I also love all of the fall activities-hay rides, fires, pumpkin patches-what's not to love?

6. Top 5 Favorite Movies. Go.
I have a lot of movies that I like. Most of them are Disney flicks :) Tangled is number one. I always felt like Rapunzel when I had my really long hair, so I loved that she finally became a Disney princess. Newsies is number two (any movie with Christian Bale, really), Hello Dolly is number three, Ok, don't laugh but I love the Christmas Rankin Bass movie Santa Clause is Comin' to Town-I try to watch it every year! Last but not least, It's a Wonderful Life is definitely up there. Anything with Jimmy Stewart, really!

7. What is your least favorite household chore?
I despise housework in its entirety. I really hate doing the dishes the most though. No matter how many times you do them, there are always going to be more! You can never have all the dishes clean at one time and that bothers me....haha

8. Coffee or tea or neither?
Sadly, neither. I've really tried to get into drinking tea because I know that it is very healthy for you, but I just can't do it! It is so bitter and no matter how much sugar I add to it (which defeats the purpose) I cannot get it to taste good. Maybe someday my tastes will change and I will be a tea drinker!

9. Last book you read? Do you recommend it?
I actually don't have time to read many books, but I do try to read my Bible often! I absolutely recommend it! There is so much truth and knowledge at your fingertips. Not to mention the outpouring of love. It's truth is the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes!

10. What was your favorite childhood toy?
I had this little 'winky doll' I called her. I'm not sure what the official name of the line of toys was, but there were many different kinds. They were dolls that when you squeeze their tummies their faces would move to make a different face! My little doll winked and smiled at me. She was so cute! I think I may have squeezed her so much that she doesn't really wink anymore...but kind of twitches a little...lol

11. Do you have any bad habits?
Oh, boy. I bet my husband could tell you a few. I'm a very lazy person when it comes to housework, so sometimes I will do a bunch of laundry, and just not fold the clean stuff. I will leave it in its basket to get horribly wrinkly. I try to at least hang up my husband's work shirts, but other than that they may stay in the basket until they get worn and then put in the hamper again!

So...there you have it! A little bit about me :) Thanks again Beth! I will be back with the bloggers I selected and their questions...it's just taking a little longer than I thought to find my bloggy friends under 200 followers!

It's hard to blog with a full time job...up until now I've just had college to work around, and I could blog/take pics in between classes and such. Now that I have been starting work full time, it's kind of impossible to do that! Thank goodness for long summer days-I don't know if I'll get many pictures once winter hits and the sun goes down at 5pm. Sorry if my posting/replying to comments is a little sporadic until I get used to my work schedule!

I got to skype with my lovely, BEAUTIFUL sister today who is in India right now. She will be gone almost a year traveling and I already miss her so much! It sounds as though she is having an amazing time though. I'm sure she is impacting each person she meets so much! And eating a lot of rice too...:)

Hope you're all making it through your week alright! I know I'll be glad when this one is over...
God Bless!

Sunday Brunch

I was able to spend some time with my husband's family this morning when they took us out for a lovely brunch after church! It was quite nice. We've been trying to spend as little time outside today as possible. It is right around 100 degrees and the humidity is so much that you can't really breathe when you are outside, much less stuck in a suffocating car.
The weekend went impossibly fast towards my impeding workweek ahead. I'm not really ready to start a full time job just yet and find myself longing for even a few more days off to prepare for real life. Alas, real life is smacking me upside the head and telling me, "You're 23 years old-it is DEFINITELY time for a full-time job you ninny!" haha. I guess after all the excitement of getting the job wore off, my nerves kicked in and reality hit me a little hard!
I hope you all have a lovely week ahead of you! I will have a special post tomorrow night so just a head's up on that :)
God Bless!
