Snowflakes

This past weekend went a little differently than planned. Sean and I were supposed to spend time hanging out with our amazing sisters, which we did, only my poor sister came down with a fever :( I was so glad that we were there to take care of her though because she was pretty ill, and I hate being alone when I'm sick. Pray for her please! I spent a little time with her watching some silly movies at least-anyone remember 'Principal Takes a Holiday'? Ya, be jealous. :)

We did get to hang out with Sean's sister and her boyfriend though which was a blast! We stayed up late watching movies and talking and I must say they fed us very well-French bread pizza anyone? Ummm....YES PLEASE! We laughed about their crazy cat, talked about school and such and just hung out-it was great :) I love getting to know Sean's family more. It was such a worry for me at first because I'm pretty shy, but his family has always made me feel very welcome and comfortable and I'm so grateful for that! :)

I hope you all had a good weekend and are having a great Monday!
Blessings,
KJA

Psalm 86:5
You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.

Today's outfit was inspired by the snow. I wanted a deep, saturated color that would pop against the glorious white, and I've been waiting to wear this dress for some time now. I pulled it off of the free rack at our flea market/thrift store in town and it has a couple tiny stains on the top of the dress-but nothing that can't be covered by a sweater or scarf! I adore the flowing tiers near the bottom of the dress and the color is just gorgeous, I couldn't pass it up...especially for the price!

The snowflakes outside are just stunning. They are those perfect little flakes that aren't all clumped together, so you can see each and every detail of each tiny flake that drops from the sky. I always loved it when I was little and they would fall on my gloves. I would just stare at them until they melted, trying to find two that were the same, admiring God's artistry :) It always amazed me how something so little could have so much detail, which makes me think about how much more amazing it is that we are made up of so many little cells and DNA that God also put together much more intricately that a snowflake. Creation is beautiful is it not? :)

Go Roxy Go!

Hooray for warm weather!! My car started and that is such a huge relief. We will still have to get a different one that will be more reliable in the winter, but at least I know this car starts and we'll be able to take it somewhere. I drove it for about twenty minutes to make sure it ran ok and boy was it shaky! Poor Roxy, she's been through a lot...haha.

Tomorrow Sean and I are going to see our sisters, I couldn't be more excited! Two visits in one weekend-it should be amazing :)
Today I'm just working on homework and being lazy :):)
Hope you all had a good week and have a great weekend!
God Bless,
KJA

Psalm 113:3
From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised.

I love this sweater I got for a dollar at a thrift store. It is super soft, just the right fit, and a great neutral color. I have so many ideas in my head as to how I want to wear it, and with the short sleeves I can wear it all through spring too if I want!

I know I've been wearing these shoes in every post lately, but I really just can't get enough. They go with absolutely every outfit and they're definitely my favorite shoes ever. I need more oxfords!!

Red

I used to not cry at movies or tv shows. What happened to me? It seems the older I get the more blubbery I get about everything. I finished season 6 of Lost today. I have no idea what happened, nothing makes any sense to me and I so after the last episode I was just confused and red and puffy from crying. Isn't that silly? It's only a tv show. In the words of Charlie Brown-Good Grief! Is anyone else with me here?

It is so warm out today! Nearly 30 degrees-that is quite the switch from -10!! It is so sunny and just perfect out. Everything is melting and dripping all over. Of course next week it's supposed to be back in the negatives so I'd better enjoy it now! I know the bunnies are enjoying it because we have bunny tracks all over the place in the snow! We see them from our back patio once in a while. It amuses me because we are right in the middle of the city in an apartment and we still see bunnies all over! I love it. :)

I adored the comfort this outfit gave me today. It felt like I was wearing pajamas and the scarf is so soft and cuddly. I got this dress off the free rack at a flea market-it is silk and wonderful and just the most perfect color.
Well, it's almost the weekend! I am excited because Sean and I are going to visit the town where both of our sisters live, so we both get to see family! It's gonna be a blast. :D

Have a happy Thursday!
God Bless,
KJA

Lost

Not much to say today, I'm just doing laundry and finally watching season 6 of lost. I watched all 5 seasons and then never got to watch the 6th. It's been bugging the tar out of me how the show ends and soon I will find out!

Hope you're having a happy Wednesday :)

New Specs

Woo Hoo! I got my new specs in the mail! I ordered some new glasses off of a website called zenni optical. All you have to know is your prescription and you can get a full set of frames and lenses for as little as 7 dollars. You can also upload a picture and try different styles on to know which you'd like best! I had a hard time choosing a pair, but I wanted to go with something that wasn't too loud. Next time I'm totally springing for a bright yellow pair or something similar to that, but I wanted at least one pair of normal glasses :) haha. I love this pair. They're plastic, so they don't have nose pieces, which tend to irritate my nose. They sit nicely and the prescription seems to be fine. Plus I love the way they look. I think they're keepers!
Since I wanted to showcase my glasses right I thought I'd opt for a comfy cardi and long teacher dress. Sooo comfy.
How is your week going?
God Bless!

Fun Feature

Blue Collar Catwalk

Hey guys, how cool is this? One of my favorite bloggers had a great idea to feature some of her readers in a special style post! Myself and 5 other lovelies were featured for wearing outfits that cost under 50 dollars. My outfit was $3.60...haha! I wore it in this post.I was pretty stoked when I saw it on her blog. Check out the post here! And be sure to check out the rest of Kyla's blog as well-I adore her style.

On to today. I finally went and got my name changed!! I know it took me forever...6 months to be exact. But it's done and now I can finally start getting everything changed over to Katie Aman. It took me forever to find the social security place, but that's because half of the sign was hidden by snow. I had to drive by it like 5 times before I finally saw it :P

It is Sean and I's 6 month anniversary today! It's so weird that it has been 6 months...I feel like we've been married longer than that. At the same time I remember our engagement seeming so long like the wedding would never come. Now it's come and gone and 6 months have passed! So surreal.

Hope you all are enjoying your Monday :)
God Bless,
KJA

Sunny Sunday

It's a sunny one out there today folks! I should have put some sunglasses on, but instead I decided to just cover my face...hence the super attractive picture of me doing so. ha.

We played about a billion hours of kinect yesterday. I'm pretty sore. They had a sale at best buy so we got three new games!! Of course that meant that we had to try them all out. One of the games is kinect sports and is a total blast. There is a boxing game where you and another person can box against each other! I beat Sean once and he beat me once...I told him that that was how we should fight from now on because it was so much fun! I can't wait until my family comes to visit so I can watch them all play. We also got the dance game for the system. I love to dance, so it's the perfect game for me, but Sean refuses to play.

Today we went to our third church. It was alright...I don't know that we'll be going back. Finding a church that you like after moving to a new place is quite the challenge. Either the service is at the wrong time, or something just doesn't feel right. We got in and out of church today without talking to a single person...I really don't think that's a good thing? But I suppose it will just take some searching and we'll find the right place. As of right now my car is completely gone I think. If it wouldn't start today with the sun shining on it then I don't think there's much hope for it...It just stinks that I can't go anywhere while Sean is at work. I even have to wait for him to come home just so I can go buy milk. I'm praying we find a car that isn't too expensive.

Well, I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead! Love you all,
KJA

What would I do without you?

Well, today has been miles better than yesterday. Actually it started last night when the hubby got home. I had been bugging him at work all day with my class problems and on top of work he was doing everything he could to help me out with my class. Then when he got home he brought me my favorite flowers-snapdragons along with some daisies- because he knew I had a terrible day. It was the sweetest thing. Then he took me to barnes and noble to pick up the book I needed for class (which he had called and reserved for me during work). We then went to the grocery store where he bought me one of my favorite suppers (shells and cheese anyone?) and even snuck a reese's big cup in the cart and presented it to me when we got home (see picture below ;) )
After supper I worked two an a half hours and got two weeks of work finished and submitted for my class. I feel so much better and having my hubby be so sweet and supportive was just what I needed. I don't know how I didn't lose my head before I knew that man. I thank God for him everyday :)

On another note, we have some friends coming to visit today! I don't think we've gone three days in a row that we haven't had any visitors since we moved here. It's been great!

Today I am just praising God for taking away my stess and worry and giving me those people in my life who love me and take care of me. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
God Bless!

Rocky....road? Ice Cream?

I gotta admit, this has been quite the rocky day. The only bright spot in it so far was going out to have lunch with Sean's mom.
I am having a lot of problems with my one internet class. One would think that a single, little internet class couldn't cause many problems. But of course this is me we're talking about and I can screw pretty much anything up. I won't go into detail, but basically I got myself 2 weeks behind in the class and now I have to wait another week for the book to show up so I will be three weeks behind. Today is the last day to drop the class and get my money back, but I'm going to try and stick it out and see if I can't make up the points. The worst thing is that it isn't even my fault that I'm behind. The professor for this online class was very elusive in the way she set up the website and didn't post anything or email us the past two weeks. I looked and searched my heart out and finally today she posts something and I find out that I'm two weeks behind. grrr...Ok enough ranting...I apologize.
I know it will work out and I am stressing too much, but right now I'm just a big ball of upset...Lord help me!

But, I did get to get out of the house for a bit to have lunch with my mother in law. My car still won't start so she came and picked me up :) I'd like to be able to go the library or something at least but that doesn't seem to be an option right now :) haha oh well.

It's days like this that just make me want to go to bed and start all over again...maybe I will!

James 1:2-6
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

God Bless!

Put Me in the Funny Pages

It was so cold when I went to take these pictures! Hence the extremely uncomfortable poses and faces...so...sorry about that :) I was surprised to find that more snow covered up my picture taking path again, and I wasn't prepared to shovel. So I had quite the time taking pictures today! But that's alright. I'm wearing a super comfy outfit so I feel good. I tell ya these jeggings are kind of the bomb dot com...yes I did just use that phrase!

Anyway...go read yourself some comics. That's what I've been doing with my day. Well, that and dishes. I would recommend Calvin and Hobbes or Peanuts :) Two of our faves!

Hope you have a fun Thursday :)
God Bless!
