Packing...

What an glorious week of camp I had this past few days! I have many stories to tell and am completely exhausted, but those will have to wait another day...They've asked me to stay another week and counsel for five more days as they are in need of the help. I am now in the midst of washing clothes and packing for my second week at my beloved camp! Happy (late) Saturday night all!
God Bless,

Vintage Specs

This is the last set of pictures I took out at my grandparents old house. I decided to wear a vintage sweater and scarf of my grandmother's which I absolutely love!

I even pulled out one of the old books from the bookshelf that had a pretty cover on it. As I was reading I discovered that it was only a book about cattle....hahaha, that's what I get!!

I found these glasses at a fleamarket in my college town. I want to get lenses put in them someday, but they are so old and fragile I'm not sure that is a good idea..so for now I'll just wear them without lenses! I absolutely love the shape of them though!

Sadly, I'm going to be taking another blogging break this coming week. It seems as though the summer is always so broken up for me! My husband and I are going to be counseling together at one of my favorite places in the whole world: Big Stone Camp for Christ.
It is where I grew up as a camper during the summer (I started counseling when I was older), it is where I made my best friends in the world, and ALSO where Sean proposed to me nearly three years ago! Now I'm finally bringing my hubby there to counsel with me!! I am beyond excited. I am so blessed to be able to share this with Sean- now he'll be able to see why this little camp has meant so much to me through the years, what an experience to share!

God Bless you throughout this coming week!

The Old House

There is a lovely old, broken down farm house on my grandparent's farm that they used to live in. It is the house my father grew up in and I never tire of looking in that old place. I always find something new to capture my attention, whether it is an old, dusty book or an interesting painting on the wall. It was where my older sister and I took our senior photos. What a perfect setting for a vintage photoshoot!

I wore one of my favorite blouses which belonged to my grandmother- it is embroidered with tiny red hearts and is so endearing with it's sheer puffed sleeves. I also pulled out a pair of my grandmother's gloves with ruching on the wrists!

Lipstick was the final touch. I only have one lipstick that I wear for absolutely everything. It is the only shade that I've ever found to work for me! I feel like when buying lipstick, or any makeup for that matter, it is such a guessing game. You never know how it will look on you until you put it on your face, and I just don't feel like spending 8 dollars on a guessing game, you know what I mean?
This lipstick is Revlon Matte in the color Whine Not. It is the perfect brick red color and I can put it on very lightly for an every day pale red look, or I can put in on darker for more of a dramatic effect. Plus it stays on all day long! I love it.

Thanks to my older sister Jenifer for taking these photos! You are quite the photographer :)
I had so much fun taking these photos!

Love everything about this place. And I'm not finished yet! One more day of the farm photoshoot to come!
Hope I'm not boring you yet ;)
God Bless All!

Farm Girl at Heart

I brought a bunch of my vintage clothing out to my grandparents house and made my sister spend an afternoon shooting some photos of me in various combinations of outfits. We had a blast! Here is the first outfit I wanted to wear for our photoshoot- just a simple lavender dress with some rugged boots.....:)

I just love all of the wide open space I get to see out at my grandparent's. Sometimes I wrestle with whether I am truly a city girl, or a country girl at heart. I think the hills, gravel roads, and endless fields are so very lovely and peaceful. Looking at it from a life standpoint however makes me think that living in the middle of nowhere could not be an option, unless I were actually a farmer. My husband could not work in a computer job if there were no town to work in! I think I'd like to live in the outskirts of a town, but have a little forest or pond for me to frolic in close by-that way I could get a little taste of both worlds :)

Sometimes, when you're on the farm, you have to sidestep cow pies in the yard...my grandfather let his 3 cows wander around the yard to graze (much to the dismay of my grandmother) and they left presents everywhere! They also made a stick-bush out of my grandmother's rose bush...oops!

Have a lovely evening all!

Scallops

Here is what I wore on another balmy, farm day out at my grandparents. These shorts were the perfect blend of style and functionality for me-outside playing with the kitties and dogs, and watching the cows graze on my grandmother's poor rosebushes out the window.....But that's another story! I also brought every pair of rugged boots I could find with me to wear for trekking through the garden...these fit the bill!

Hope you all have a lovely evening!
God Bless,
