Outfit: Mixing Plaid and Stripes

Hello there cats! The week is rolling on by quite slowly. Training at the new job is pretty taxing, but hopefully that will get better with time and repetition. I am just so ready to know what I am doing and be able to accomplish it without asking a million questions, haha. I also am not used to sitting all day long, rather I have been accustomed to running around all day long on my feet, so I'm also getting used to the change of pace. I've had fun getting dressed for the job as well, it is a completely different feel than what I am used to and I can be a bit more creative than usual! Too bad I just won't have time to take pictures of any of it, haha.

Have a good Thursday friends! It is a soup cook-off in the office so, I can't be mad about that. :)

God Bless,
KJA

Outfit: Vintage Green and Blue Suit

Happy Monday friends! It is a happy Monday indeed because I spent the entire weekend with my family! We were finally able to have our 'Christmas' and so we got together and made homemade ice cream, played kinect with the nephews, played some John Denver records and just had a great time hanging out together.
It is also a good day because I am starting a new job! I didn't post anything last week because I wasn't sure when I would be starting, but I am starting today! I resigned from both of my part time jobs and will be beginning a new position at a bank operations center working with one of my best friends I have known since elementary school. It is full time, 8-5, and I will get a lunch break (which is an upgrade from my previous situation). I know it is a definite side-step from education/children and will likely be quite boring (so they tell me), as it is a basic, entry level job. However the ability to have a set schedule, a job that I can leave at work, and benefits will make it worth it. Plus it might be nice to have a little boring in my life for a while. It might be nice to be less stressed out all the time and not be around sick little kiddos every day.
My last day with the kids was tough for me. Working after-school means that I have had some of the students for nearly three years. That means I know some of the students and families very well and it was difficult to say goodbye to that. I will hopefully keep in touch with them, but it was definitely time to move on.

On a fashion-y note, I know if you have read my blog in the past, you have seen this  suit. It is my favorite in my collection mostly because I've never seen anything like it in all my perusing. Oddly enough it is Sean's favorite too, and he doesn't always like much of what I wear. It is just so eye-catching on its own that I usually just accessorize with black, but I decided to throw on a cranberry fedora on this day. Good thing I did because it was incredibly sunny out! I can't complain about that though. Sun means warmth in all of this winter cold we've been having!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

40's Does 90's

Hello darlings! It's a shame that illness should finally propel me to update my blog. Sitting in bed for the last 8 hours has given me some time to actually edit photos! These are from weeks ago when Sean and I were travelling for Christmas. This was still when I accidentally had my iso set super high so...let's just pretend I made them super grainy on purpose, ok?
We went thrifting and I found these super grunge ankle boots that I just fell in love with. They are fun and different so I snatched them up, and they are incredibly comfortable too. They will be great for work too! This is what I wore for the drive home-a big, cozy sweater and a comfy dress. Can't go wrong there!

What have you been up to this week?

Outfit: Vintage Plaid Skirt

Hello, hello again! I hope you are all having a splendid Monday. We have been busy as little bees the past few weeks and the next couple will be more of the same. I don't remember January ever being this busy before? Oi, I'm ready for a break. This week will be filled with meetings, work, preparations for family coming this weekend, and trying to fit a little downtime in between. I think the downtime is going to have to take a backseat.

This is what I wore a couple of Sunday's ago. This coat is my grandmother's, the scarf was made for me by one of my students parents (she said it was called hand knitting?! I need to learn this!), and the skirt was a two dollar thrift store find over Christmas. I love the skirt as I have been looking for a plaid one for quite a few winters now but they were always just a bit too small. this one is just perfect and I shant ever let it out of my possession.

What are you dolls up to this week?

God Bless!

Outfit: 1940's Coat

Hi there! I finally have my computer back! I got really used to not having one for a few weeks, and I kind of didn't miss it very much (I didn't have time to miss it!). But now I have a huge backlog of photos to show you so hopefully I will be posting more in the next few weeks.
Many changes are ahead for our year, I'm just not sure what those changes are yet. I'm still working on job hunting/interviewing without much luck so far. I have a goal of updating my Etsy shop more regularly, and hopefully I'll be able to do that.

I think I got my camera issued figured out and it should be taking better photos now. These were taken when the camera was still acting up, so excuse the quality. In spite of that I wanted to showcase this beautiful 1940's coat with the most amazing hood! I've never had a vintage coat with a hood before and this is one I hope to keep in my collection forever. It is so warm too!

God Bless, and a happy week to you all!
