Snow day...sort of

Yay for having the hubby home early from work, boooooo to the weather being bad so that I can't go see my family! We were supposed to go to my hometown to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family this weekend, but it looks as though the weather is not going to permit that...Sean and I will make the most of it though!
We have plans for lots of hot chocolate and sleeping in...and probably frolicking in the snow like we did today :)!!
This will be the first weekend in a long time that we will be able to relax a little bit and sleep in without having to travel right away Saturday morning! Although hopefully we will be making our way Sunday to see the fam :) I miss those nephews of mine-I haven't seen them in over a month! That's a long time for a newborn to change-he's going to look so different when I see him!

Hope you're all enjoying your New Year's Eve and staying safe if you're having bad weather! I don't really do New Year's resolutions, do you? One big thing that I want to accomplish this year is to read the entire Bible. That is one area I have trouble with because when I was younger, I definitely didn't understand what a lot of it meant! But since Sean got me a study Bible it has been a lot easier. What do you want to get accomplished in 2011?

God Bless,
KJA

City Driving. Blech.

Have any of you ever gotten yourself hopelessly lost going someplace that should have been really easy to find? I had to go to walmart today for a few things. This is the first time since we moved here that I've attempted to venture that far out, since we live right by a grocery store I haven't had to go far. I thought I knew where walmart was, so I tried to go this really weird route and ended up on the busiest road in the city trying to make a left turn...sigh. You just can't make left turns, I should have known this. So I literally waited for about 15 minutes just to pull out and then I got myself all lost and had to call Sean because somehow I ended up on the interstate...gah....But I finally did make it. Although I have to be honest, I do not like the abundance of people living in a big city. It's a weekday afternoon and walmart was so packed I felt like I couldn't breathe! I am not used to this, having come from small town, SD. Hopefully I will get used to it :)

It was very slushy and dark today, I wanted to wear my new shoes again, but I changed into boots because it was so wet outside! Nice temps though-I can get used to this for December in SD! I wanted to go sledding like all the little families at the huge hill by our apartment-Sean and I will have to get a sled and try it out for ourselves some Saturday!

Hope you all are having a good week-I still feel like Christmas is this weekend as I will finally be wrapping presents today! haha...silly me. :)
God Bless!

I thought this verse was fitting, considering my driving dilemma today :) Great Verse!

Birdies

It's funny to me how my style tastes change so much from day to day. I'm so eclectic because there are so many styles that inspire me and that I want to try. This is also part of the reason why I have so many clothes...I love too many different styles! I guess that just goes back to my indecisive personality.

We had a fun night last night! A friend of ours came to have supper and visit and we had a good time :) The boys played a little old school Nintendo, we played some Kinect, and ate food :):D This friend also brought with him a gift someone sent along with him to give to us-it is James Earl Jones reading the New Testament of the Bible!! It was amazing. We sat and listed to Luke for nearly an hour. The only drawback is that it it King James version, but that's ok! James Earl Jones is almost 80, so I think someone should call him up and tell him to get started on the Old Testament before it is too late!

Today has been quite the interesting day. I played Kinect for like 2 hours and now I am super sore-It is such a great workout~but so fun! Then I got dressed and tried to go take pictures...but it was sooo super sunny and so everything was melting and dripping all over the camera. Plus, there were a bunch of people coming and going outside which I didn't like...I get embarrassed when people see me with my tripod. So I decided to go to the store and take pictures afterwords.

I was supposed to go to the mall to make a hair appt. for Sean and I, so I walked all around the mall to find a place to get our hair cut. But then I didn't know if they even cut guys' hair because it looked really girly and I chickened out. I will have to call and make an appointment for Sean somewhere else.

After the mall I went to the grocery store to get some ingredients for some gifts I am making for this weekend. Well APPARENTLY everyone else had the idea to make the same thing because they are all out of the things I need! I hope I can find what I need by tomorrow or I won't get a chance to make anything for this weekend...

So the pictures definitely didn't turn out the best-I wanted to show you the shoes I got with my gift card from Sean's grandma! I know it's ridiculous that I bought another pair of shoes...but I have been wanting a pair like this for a long time and as long as I used a gift card and not real money, I was ok with it :) haha. Plus these are the most comfortable things ever. I have been doing the dishes in them even, and I walked around in them all day today and my feet don't hurt at all! A worthy purchase I would say! Love 'em!

Today's Verse:
Luke 10:27
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Withdrawals

Hello everyone :) Are any of you having weekend Christmas withdrawals? Luckily I got to spend the day shopping and cleaning here at home-not at work like my hubby!
I found out today just how much I hated cleaning. I went through the bathroom, our second bedroom, and the kitchen just cleaning and unpacking things. I thought for sure I had spent hours at it, but when I looked at the clock it had only taken me an hour! Sheesh...so then I did the dishes...sigh...haha! But it feels good to have gotten something done around here, what with being completely lazy all weekend!

Just a short post today-back to more cleaning and organizing!
God Bless!

I Celebrate the Day

How was your Christmas? Mine was really fun and relaxing spending time with Sean's family. We watched a lot of great movies like Despicable Me and How to Train your Dragon and just hung around snuggling on the couch with Chips (The cat :D not the food...) It was pretty cool.
I am so excited to go see my side of the family this weekend! I miss my nephews terribly! We don't have to watch movies when we get together because everyone just watches the eldest run around and sing and play- They're sooo cute!

Did you all get to watch your favorite Christmas movie and partake in favorite family traditions? I hope so :) I feel as though Christmas hasn't even happened yet because I haven't been home, haven't wrapped any presents or made any stocking stuffers. I am planning on doing that all this week in preparation for the weekend! It doesn't matter what day you celebrate on, right? As long as you think about the true meaning of Christmas and how love was born on Earth so that we could have life in Jesus :):D
God Bless! Here is my favorite Christmas song, by Relient K, give it a listen :) :

White Christmas

Well, it certainly looks as though we will have a white Christmas this year! I am glad because I remember a few years back there was no snow on Christmas and it made it very difficult to get into the holiday mood.
This is my favorite type of snow. Big, beautiful flakes falling softly to the ground, no wind, and mild temps. It makes it so much more pleasant to be outside enjoying the lovely whiteout!

Have any of you seen 'The Nativity Story'? If not, I highly recommend it. It isn't like one of those old, badly made films that they show you in Sunday School. It is a very well made movie with great acting and I cry everytime I see it! It really puts what Mary and Joseph must have gone through during this time in perspective and makes the birth of Jesus all the more real and emotional-It is wonderful!
What is your favorite Christmas movie?

I plan on posting over the weekend, but if I can't get to a computer I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas :D Think on the wonderful things all around you and the most perfect gift we can all receive-the love of Jesus Christ-the whole reason we celebrate this holiday :):D He loves you and so do I!! Merry Christmas!!
God Bless,
KJA

Luke 2:8-14
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
