Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I'm glad to live in this country and feel very blessed that there are so many who serve so that we can live freely day by day.

I have my husband home from work today, so we've been driving around town looking for trinket filled rummage sales and just discovering more of this city we live in. There are so many new things to see each time we explore Sioux Falls- new apartment complexes and shops- it's fun to dream about where we might live in the next few years! We found one rummage sale that had three tables filled with different salt and pepper shakers someone had obviously been collecting over the years!

This is another dress of my grandmother's that I absolutely love. It's just a simple shirtdress, but I love everything about it! I couldn't resist wearing all of my favorite vintage pieces with it as well.

God Bless, all! Have a blessed Memorial Day :)

Wise Words...

Romans 12:14-16

Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!

Summer Sunday

Here's the breakdown of the day so far: Church, lunch, hubby off to change oil while I sit home and contemplate possibly doing the dishes....sounds like a typical Sunday to me! It feels like a genuine summer day out today-hot, humid, and sunny. Many more of those days ahead I presume!

I found this dress and jacket at my favorite thrift spot in town. I have to say it is one of my favorite finds to date. It's so easy peasy to throw on and feel like I have a complete vintage look! Also, I have a lack of plaid in my closet because I feel like it makes me look a little school-girlish. However, this is a nice muted plaid that I don't think is too obnoxious.

My older sister gifted these earrings to me a few years ago. I love cats so they were the obvious choice :). They have a lovely vintage feel to them and I even wore them as part of my costume in a play I was in once! Love them...:D

Hope you all have a splendid Sunday. Wishing you blessings for Memorial Day tomorrow!
God Bless,

Acts 20:24
But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

Which glasses?

I'm in the market for some new glasses everyone! Which pair should I spring for? All four pairs are from zennioptical.com and range from 10-25 dollars...I can't decide...all opinions welcome!

Errands

John 3:17
God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

This is just a casual 'running errands' outfit. It was cold and windy out this morning, so I went for a run! I pushed myself a lot harder than I have been, it was tough-but hopefully worth the pain!
Since it was chilly and dreary, I knew I could count on my corduroys and scarf to keep me warm. I'm wearing gifts from both of my sisters! My eldest sister gave me these lovely earrings which I adore. My other amazing sister gave me this scarf last Christmas! They know me so well :) Accessories are always a safe bet to get me as gifts!
Sean and I went to check out a thrift store in town that we haven't been to yet. It was a woman who apparently rented out a whole building of office spaces and she had like 12 different rooms-it was like a maze, it just kept on going! It didn't have much vintage though, and was way overpriced. I don't think I'll be returning to that particular spot! My criteria are: vintage and cheap. I stick to my ideals!

For the first time after cutting my hair I finally decided to try my hair in a bun again! It wouldn't go up very easily right after I cut it, but I have to say I was pleased with the results today! Maybe I just needed my hair to be 3+ days unwashed....don't judge me.

I hope you are all having a relaxing Saturday! I know a little thrifting always amounts to ME having a lovely day...what can I say ;)
God Bless,
KJA

A Long Walk

Romans 15:2
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.

This blue dress is one of the vintage pieces from my grandmother. I have two dresses made of this material-apparently my aunt wore this one and my grandmother wore the more conservative version with sleeves and a longer hemline. I just love both of them! The fabric is so beautiful and it is wonderful to know that they were homemade by my grandmother :)

Sean and I walked to the mall to try and check out the carnival that has come to town. Unfortunately we walked all the way around the mall only to find that it wasn't open yet :( I was excited because it was one of those po-dunk small town carnivals with the sketchy carni's and more scam games than rides. Who doesn't love that?! We'll have to check again at the end of the week and see if they're ready for our awesomeness yet ;)

Have a lovely Wednesday night all!
God Bless,
KJA
