Casual

Tonight I found out that I'm going to be a bridesmaid in the wedding of one of my good friends! We were roommates in college and she is just the nicest, sweetest person. I went to see her try on wedding dresses tonight and it was so much fun! I like girl time :) I come from a family of all girls so I miss that sometimes! She looked simply stunning in everything she put on-what a gorgeous bride she's going to make! I haven't been a bridesmaid since my sister's wedding when I was 16-this is going to be fun! The wedding is on the first day of autumn, so I'm betting the weather will be just perfect too. Yay weddings!

Ps: Sorry if any of you are sick of this hat. It seems to be fused to my head with no signs of severance in sight. I loves it. I really want a hat like this in other colors-gray or brown maybe? Navy? Hmmm...I need to get on that ;)

My first day of teaching solo went really well. It just felt like routine, since I've been there all year. My adviser was in to observe me and noted that I had a really rowdy, talkative bunch of students. I said that I knew that, haha! She suggested that I make up some sort of rewards system for the students for the next two weeks in order to get them to behave better. I'm going to give them smiley face stickers when they do something well, such as make quiet transitions and demonstrate good hallway behavior. If they get a certain number of stickers I'm going to let them have popcorn and a short movie on Friday afternoon. It seemed to work alright, but we'll see how tomorrow goes!

That was MY day!
Happy Monday all :)

Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.

From Last Week...

Just an outfit I wore last week. Another day of rummage sale-ing and walking around Sioux Falls!
I start my two weeks of full teaching tomorrow. I'm not really nervous, since I've been in the same classroom since the beginning of the year. I know the routine and I know all of my students-I'm excited to run on my own schedule!

Hope your Sunday was lovely!

You've Been Spotted

I had a picture taking gig at a Girl Scouts event in town today! I'm not part of the Girl Scouts, but my sister in law is an event planner for them. They were having an event at the convention center and wanted me to run a photo booth for girls wanting to take fun pictures. It was quite the experience! I had a lot of fun, but I'm no professional photographer. Also, I'm quite impressed that I was able to walk around and stand on my feet for three + hours in these heels- bravo cheap Kohl's shoes! You are awesome.

Aaaaand let the ridiculous amount of photos commence:

This is one of my favorite vintage blouse finds. Most of my vintage blouses are ridiculously too big for me, so they aren't as versatile as I'd like them to be. The other day I found this beauty for $1.99 and it was love at first sight. It is actually my size- a rare thing for me when thrifting. I thrifted these jeans from Target in the same shopping trip-they cost me $3.99. It was a good day :)

Philippians 2:5-8
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

I hope you are all having a grand Saturday! The dishes are calling my name :P
God Bless!

Black and Blue

Hebrews 7:25
Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.

I wore this ensemble to do a bit of rummage sale-ing around town. Our city has a huge rummage sale encompassing many neighborhoods. It is a week long of rummaging goodness! We've went the past two nights and picked up a few treasures. Not many though! Most rummage sale-ing is baby clothes and trinkets. It was the walking around that was fun! We just parked our car and walked several blocks around town-just chatting with each other and dreaming about having a house someday to fill with vintage treasures! We found this incredible maple hutch that would be beautiful in a kitchen. I totally would have considered buying it if we had a house.

One of my students today licked a marker. LICKED. One of my kiddos came up and told me that the other student had marker on his face. I went over to look at him. He was covering his face and I told him to show me what he had done. He stuck out his tongue to show me a huge green line covering his entire tongue-from front to back! I asked him why he licked the marker and he said, "Because another student wanted to borrow it and I thought if I licked it they wouldn't want to borrow it anymore!"
Bah, children.
Love them.
Can that work nowdays? "Oh, the government wants my money? I'll just LICK it and they won't want it anymore! That'll show 'em!"

I've noticed that older ladies really love it when younger people wear hats. I've gotten so many compliments from the old ladies running their rummage sales on my hat/ the way I dress the past couple of days. I love it! They always say, "I wish hats were more in style like they were back when I was young!" I like to think that I remind them somewhat of those days- how fun! One lady said, "Wow, you look so forties, how neat!" I was buying a vintage wool navy peacoat from her. How fitting :)

Here's to another Friday! Love those....
God Bless!

Dishrag

Here is my outfit. It is full of spilled milk, snot, and sweat. Apparently to my kiddos I'm a human dishrag. It was a long day, and I'm beat. Thank goodness the hubby made supper for me!
Have a good Monday all :)

So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
