I begged my mom to buy me these shoes in 7th grade. I love cats and thought, "How can these shoes not be made for me? They're called CAT's!" Based on that premise and the fact that I thought they were pretty cool I convinced my mom that I would love them and wear them everyday. She made me promise that I would wear them forever. Which, I pretty much did. I wore them everyday of my life for at least three years probably. Well, I picked them back up again and kind of liked the interesting look they could add to some of my outfits! They're a little big and chunky, but they remind me of the oh so popular creepers (which are way too extreme for me). I put them on with this blazer and actually liked the way they looked! The shoes are back!
I observed in a fifth grade classroom today. Worlds apart from my first grade classroom! The attention span is so much longer. In first grade I'm used to always changing activities every 20 minutes or so. Fifth graders can last a good 40 minutes before they begin to succumb to boredom! It was an interesting observation, the male teacher was a little unconventional in the way he interacted with the students- I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I hated being teased in school by teachers, but I also think it's something that a lot of kids respond to because of the humor. Definitely not a route I'll be taking in my teaching, however. But his students seemed to love it!
I did a celery experiment with my students today. We're learning about stems of plants. I showed the students some celery stalks and then we put them in cups of colored water to see what will happen to them overnight-I hope it really works! The celery is supposed to soak up the color and the stalk and leaves will turn (in our case) red. Although if you'd look in our classroom you'd think we had a bunch of bloody mary's sitting out on our table with all of the cups of celery! haha. Gross.
Speaking of lesson plans...I have to get another one ready tonight! Yipes!
I hope you all have a blessed Tuesday evening! Here's to only having ONE MONTH of teaching left and 18 DAYS UNTIL GRADUATION!!!!!!!! WOOHOOO!
I'm not excited. Not at all.
Well.
Maybe a little.
:)
God Bless!

I love this look and I love the idea of wearing plaid as a jacket-y thing. Also you're rocking this weirdly awesome 90's grunge look and I love it.
Sounds like my fifth grade teacher...though he absolutely terrified a shy girl like me at that age. He was relentless in teasing us and always threw chalk and made students get up and sing a solo in front of the class if he didn't hear us singing to the morning patriotic song...he would walk around the class and put his ear up to our mouths to make sure singing was coming out...haha. Funny now, awful back then.
Enough rambling, I adore your shoes and that blazer..which reminds me of a plaid dress I have. I need more casual outfits like this:)
