Devotional: Combating Lies 4

Good morning all! It's time again for a Sunday Devotional. My series right now is looking at different lies that we may believe about ourselves, and how to combat those lies using scripture. Here are number one, number two, and number three if you are interested!

The fourth lie is this: I am confused/think I am going crazy

Honestly as a human being I think we can all relate to this one, but especially as women. Just being blunt here, at least two weeks a month I think I'm going crazy and sometimes it can be hard to cope. In addition to that it seems that our lives are a never-ending bombardment of expectations and stress. Some of us have homework, work, kids, housework, not to mention trying to keep our bodies and minds healthy by working out and trying to cook super healthy meals while worrying about how much they cost. It can be a bit overwhelming to say the least. With all of the physical going on in our lives, sometimes the mental/spiritual can take a backseat...so here's what to focus on:

The truth is: I have the mind of Christ.

Key Scriptures:

1 Corinthians 2:16For,“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

2 Timothy 1:7- For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Ephesians 1:17-I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

The more time we spend in God's word, the more insight we'll get into the mind of Christ and how His wisdom and spirit can calm our deepest worries and anxieties about life. The more we know about Him, the more He becomes like a best friend that you run to when you need advice, or are in trouble. He doesn't exactly delve into a pint of Ben and Jerry's with you, but the awesome love that peace that washes over you is sweeter than any spoonful of Half-Baked. The next time you think you can't handle it? Just let God handle it. He has given you a strong mind so that you don't ever have to let the crazy train take over.

Have a blessed Sunday and be sure to check out out Flock Together today for our winter coat style challenge

God Bless,
KJA
