Devotional: Combating Lies 3

Good morning all! It's time again for a Sunday Devotional. My series right now is looking at different lies that we may believe about ourselves, and how to combat those lies using scripture. Here are number one and number two if you are interested!

The third lie is this: I have no confidence.

How many of you have felt this way in your lives? Just about from the time we hit ten years old and beyond, most boys and girls struggle with confidence in one way or another. Confidence in our abilities, confidence in our appearance, confidence in our relationships with people and even in our relationship with Christ. The truth is that we have all the confidence and boldness we need found in our Heavenly Father and that will translate to all areas of our life if we let it.

Key Scriptures: There are a lot of them today. I would recommend you find them in your Bible and read context as well to get a better picture of what each is talking about.

Proverbs 3:26- For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.

Proverbs 14:26- Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge.

Proverbs 28:1- The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

Hebrews 10:10- And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Ephesians 3:12- In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

I love how many reasons God gives us to have total faith in Him and His love. I think Proverbs 28:1 is my favorite. Just hearing the phrase that we who have faith in Christ are as "bold as a lion" is such a reassurance that no matter what comes our way, we have more strength within than we may think. We have every reason to be confident in our faith-we don't need to be afraid to approach God because Christ has made a way for us to freely come to God with our triumphs and struggles alike. If we truly believe these scriptures, then we have no reason to not be confident in our faith and because of that, in ourselves and the way we conduct ourselves. It will change the way we conduct ourselves, the way we dress, and the way we speak to others. Those of us who are bloggers understand boldness-whether it be in the words we post or the way we dress, etc. If we could use our platforms to boldly proclaim the love of God to those who need to hear it, just think of the ripple effect it could have!
Be a lion today and be CONFIDENT always.

God Bless,
KJA
