Play practices have been in full swing this week-I'm getting so excited as time gets closer for the show to open! Also, my playbook matched my dress, so, you know- awesome sauce!
This is another of my grandmother's dresses. I think she was younger when she wore this one-perhaps still in school in the 1950's. I love everything about it, the colors, the plaid, the simplicity of the cut-it's one of my favorites!
Also, I'm not sure how I even fared without this beat up men's jean jacket before I rummaged it several weeks ago. Literally I haven't been wearing any of my other jackets-this one just fits that "I'm somebody's sweetheart" vibe like it's an oversized letterman jacket or something.
Also-tomorrow is a big day!! Sean and I close on our home tomorrow! I cannot wait to be able to call some place our own and have some freedom to do what we like with it. I'm glad that I'll be able to have a yard on a nice day, instead of staying cooped up inside. We already have the new roof put on, and now we'll need to do some painting and a few other repairs, but otherwise the house is wonderful, because it will be ours :)
Sean and I have been doing alright with packing, but it's difficult to pack much until you get closer to your moving date-we have a little over a week before we move in so we still need dishes and clothes and all of that good stuff. We're going to start packing a few boxes a night with comedy on netflix in the background. Last night it was a Ken Davis comedy show-I've always been a Ken Davis fan. Just the way he talks is humorous in itself, and then you add his sense of humor in and it was a pretty delightful way to get some packing done :)
Well, have a nifty day all you guys and dolls!
God Bless,
KJA

Congrats on the closing tomorrow, be prepared to sign your name so many times your hand will cramp. Totally worth it though in the end!
I love this dress!! Plaid shirtdresses are so perfect, I can't even get over how much I love this one. It looks great with the denim jacket.

Oooh, I really like that last picture in sepia! It takes me back in time... :D hehehe. That plaid dress is a stunning piece, Katie! And yeah, that jacket is definitely reminiscent of a letterman jacket. I feel like these pictures are from you back in your college days... if you know, you were alive a few decades ago. :)
That dress is so adorable! And it looks like that it is such in good shape from being in the 1950's! You look so great.
Yay! Congrats on the house that is so exciting! And good luck on the play - can't wait to hear all about it!

Aw yay....congrats on closing on your new home! It was such a long drawn out process for my hubs and I but so very worth it in the end.
Your hair is sooo perfect here. I'm always in awe of all the vintage styles you can pull off with it...I don't think I could ever find the patience, hehe. Such a pretty dress too!
This dress is wonderful on you! And congrats on the house. Moving is never fun, but the reward following is worth it.
The sepia one made me think for a second it WAS your grandmother as if you were showing us a now-and-then sort of thing. Regardless, you look cute and it is very you.
Good luck moving and break a leg
