Rain Storm

My day began with being woken up by a pretty torrential thunderstorm...ok maybe it wasn't that bad...but I like the word torrential. It was pouring cats and dogs! I wanted to go out and dance in it (one of my favorite activities) but curse that lightning! I then made my way out to my beloved camp to clean the cabins and prepare for the campers to come in a few weeks! It, of course, was a blast hanging out with great people-I am so completely blessed with wonderful friends!
After that my mom and I made our way to a small bridal shower and ended up staying and talking for three hours! Definitely the longest bridal shower I think I've been to. It was great to catch up with some people I hadn't seen in a long time and a fun way to spend the afternoon :)
Hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow and I can spend the day with my family at a lake for 'free fishing' weekend!
God Bless!

Today's Verse:
John 6:26-27Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."

Ok...I'm really not trying to flash my tummy...but this belt is SO AMAZING!!! It fits around my hips AND my waist...which usually never happens....and the extra belt that usually hangs out and sticks out all funny folds underneath the belt so you can't even see it! Too awesome...

Partly Cloudy

Today has been one of those strange days, where you feel like time is going slowly, but yet you have so much to do...and yet nothing to do at the same time. It was pretty sunny all day long, and then when I went out to take pictures it got very cloudy. I guess it's my fault for wearing this shirt...I have had this shirt for a long time and it's very soft and just perfect for staying at home baking...:) which is what I was doing today. I needed a baking day to de-stress and we just so happened to have a carton of buttermilk that needed to be used up...which meant that I grabbed my Old West cooking book and whipped up pancakes, spider bread (like a cornbread) and whole wheat bread...yum! So that's all I've done so far today...bake and eat...I feel like there's something I should be doing but I haven't started yet :)

The outfit is nothing fabulous, to be sure-but this blog is documenting my real life, not my fantasy I-wish-I-dressed-in-dresses-and-heels-everyday blog life. :D So I figure it's alright.

Today's verse:
John 6:33
For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.

Just a quick note

I was planning on posting yesterday...and earlier today..but today has been so crazy! Wedding planning is frazzling my brain... Yesterday one of my very best friends and I went to see my fiance and take the largest amount of pictures I think I've ever taken at one time...!! haha! I need lots of pictures for my centerpieces at the wedding as well as a picture slideshow before the wedding, so we got all dandied up and had a picnic on one of the loveliest days ever! It was glorious outside. I didn't even need to wear sunscreen and only got a little red on my shoulders and the tip of my nose....ooops! I know that's naughty-one should always wear sunscreen (especially when they're as pale as I am)! But I did promise the fiance I would have freckles for him on our wedding ;) So I need to get a little bit of sun! But we picnic-ed, walked around the zoo a little bit, played with a turtle, went to the park, and just enjoyed the wonderful day together! Thanks God :D

Today's verse: Psalm 34:1-6
1 [a] I will extol the LORD at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.

2 My soul will boast in the LORD;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

3 Glorify the LORD with me;
let us exalt his name together.

4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.

5 Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.

6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.

haha...this is how awesome my friend who took our pictures is...she makes me laugh so much!!! Also, even just one of her blue eyes could make you melt-I was thinking today that I would describe her complexion as a delightful mixture of sweet cream and roses dappled with a hint of cinnamon ;) In other words-she's gorgeous!!

Bike rides, family, wedding plans

Today's Verse:
Psalm 29:4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.

Even though I was done with college a couple of weeks ago, I haven't really taken a day to just rest and hang out at home doing nothing. I'm kind of getting worn out! But at least keeping busy helps the day move along, and I've gotten to spend a lot of time with great friends and family :)

I have been bike riding the past couple of days, first with my sister, and then with one of my besties yesterday-my bum is so sore!! I think I need a larger seat....haha.
Yesterday was one of the best days ever! I went to see one of my best friends and we went and had a picnic complete with string cheese, cherries, and razzles. Then we went for a bike ride, trying to find the bike path (which we never did...), we then went to look around the greenhouse for more plants. We ate grilled chicken and then took her dog for a walk-whew! I was tired! So that's why no post yesterday-I was wiped!

Today a few of my bridesmaids and myself went to get alterations on their dresses-and I bought a veil!!! I was going to make one myself, but this one was just perfect and I'm super excited about it!!

Hope you're all enjoying the nice weather :D

Off to the Greenhouse

Today has been quite lovely. After church, we ate a little lunch and then made our way to the local greenhouse to pick up some veggies (onions, tomatoes, and peppers), as well as some flowers for my mama's heart-shaped garden patch in the front of our house. I've missed the field trips to the greenhouse when the weather is just balmy with a kiss of sun and lilacs in the air...mmmm :)

Thanks to Jen for taking pics of me today! I'm trying to keep things in perspective with wedding planning, blogging, Bible school coming up, and who knows what else pops up from day to day.

A friend at church today-Betty- gave me some great encouragement today! She was telling me how she enjoys reading my blog and it made me feel so good to know that someone likes to read the verses I choose and my little ramblings about the day :) She and her husband used to help with the youth at our church when I was young, and I have fond memories of them from those Sunday evenings. She herself has great style :) and always looks just lovely and sweet-with usually some sparkle to her outfits ;) Thanks for your encouragement today Betty!!

Kind of a picture heavy post today, but I was excited to post after taking a break while watching my nephew for a few days!

Today's verse: I decided to post the Psalm we read in church this morning :)
Psalm 97

1 The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad;
let the distant shores rejoice.

2 Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

3 Fire goes before him
and consumes his foes on every side.

4 His lightning lights up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.

5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD,
before the Lord of all the earth.

6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all the peoples see his glory.

7 All who worship images are put to shame,
those who boast in idols—
worship him, all you gods!

8 Zion hears and rejoices
and the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments, O LORD.

9 For you, O LORD, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.

10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is shed upon the righteous
and joy on the upright in heart.

12 Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous,
and praise his holy name.

Psalms are so beautiful and encouraging and are definitely some of my favorite verses in the Bible :D

Just Inspiration

Today's verse:
Psalm 10:6
He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me; I'll always be happy and never have trouble."
Do yourself a favor and listen to "You're not Shaken" by Phil Stacey...:)

Since I am at my sister's babysitting my darling nephew, outfit posts will have to be forgone for the next few days. But now that the little bundle of joy is napping I thought I could post some photos that I have saved on my computer. Just some random inspirational and interesting tidbits, but at least it's something!
The rain is still falling outside, I wish I could go puddle jumping...I don't think I will ever be too old to do that. Even when it's possible to do so I will probably be the one saying to my children-put on your boots it's raining outside-let's go get muddy!!! :D:D haha.

I desperately want this dress. I want to wear it and go running in a field and have picnics and meet other butterflies. We would become fast friends, I am quite certain :)

I love this hairstyle. I actually considered it for a wedding style..but will probably end up going with something more classic.

Have a lovely day (especially if it's raining where you are) and God bless!

Mother's Day Madness

It is so nice to post again! I can't wait until I have a camera within my possession again. Until then I have my sister Jenifer who takes lovely photos for me with her camera! Thanks Jen! I wanted to document this outfit especially since I like to see all the different ways one can wear an item of clothing. This dress for instance is a lovely dress-but makes wonderful shirt too! I think that will be neat to look back and see how the versatility of a garment can really add wear and creativity to your personal style. Plus, the fact that this dress was two dollars (at most) at my local thrift store helps also :) And I just love the pop of the yellow carnation with this outfit too! All of the ladies in church today got carnations in honor of Mother's Day!

On that note, Happy Mother's Day! Today my sister and I made my mother a scrapbook page with a picture and little note, and found a tape from when we were little to play to her. This is just an audio tape from when we were probably 8-10 years old and we recorded a "Mother's Day Radio Program" for her-it was very professional mind you! She enjoyed it very much :)
What did you do for your mother today?

Today's verse:
Exodus 20:12
Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

Ok, so we were taking pictures, and all of a sudden one of the pheasants living in the trees decided to squawk and scare me half to death! It made me laugh and jump about 5 feet...haha! Hence the crazy face....

Another fun tidbit from today- My mom wanted pizza for lunch, which of course required the oven...Until the crazy heating element burst into flames! sigh....luckily they went out when we shut off the oven so our house didn't burn down, but it took a while for our pizza to cook just sitting in the warm oven, and now we can't bake until it's fixed! sigh..and we do so love to bake...haha! This is about the third time the oven has started on fire in the last few years...you think we would maybe toss it and get a different one? Naaaah, who needs that?!
