I roped my sister into being my personal photographer this week. It was so fun to have photoshoots together, and I even got to be behind the camera a time or two, which I love! We also did a bit of shopping this week for my sister. She doesn't shop at thrift stores much like I do, so we went to (gasp!) the MALL of all places! And wouldn't you know it, I actually found something on the clearance rack at Old Navy. I really like Old Navy actually. Their clothes are cute, but also functional and sporty which is great. Like this little eyelet dress that has a sweet racerback tank construction so I can throw it on after a performance for dinner with the in-laws! It works out just peachy. And since my hair was already sprayed up and tacky with hairspray, it didn't take me long to bobby pin it up away from my face.
I'm having fun exploring new areas around our house to take photos. Our deck stairs are a perfect place, and no bystanders! What a luxury ;) I do get barked at by all of the surrounding dogs in the area, but I'll take that over honks and and questions from nosy people!
So, funny story guys. I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm quite pale. Like almost vampirishly pale. I'm not complaining, I quite like it most of the time-except when buying makeup. I bought some translucent powder which I needed for the play to set my makeup. TRANSLUCENT. If you don't know what that means, it basically is supposed to be see through. I guess I'm so pale that even the translucent powder that I bought is too dark for my skin, so my face looks a bit darker than the rest of me in these photos. It doesn't matter too much on stage, but in real life it looks a bit strange! Haha. How can I be lighter than see through?! Maybe I just need to get out into the sun more?
Have a happy Thursday friends!
God Bless,
KJA

These pictures are so cute, Katie! Your sister did a fantastic job. I love these colors together, and this dress is just so cute. I feel you on being pale! Weirdly enough, I like being pale though. I've never really seen the point of being tan haha
I love the dress you found at Old Navy! I do like a lot of their things too!
I have the same issue, because I am extremely pale too! People tell me all the time that I should tan...haha, but I'm quite satisfied with my skin tone!
And I am loving that dress and those shoes! So cute!
You look adorable! Love your hair like this, and I really adore those boots and bag! Such a cute look.

Lovely color combo. I usually don't shop at Old Navy either but sometimes I get a little pleasant surprise there with something cheap & cute.

Haha, lighter than see through? Girl, you are really pale then! I never noticed though. You wear paleness well ;)
I love this pretty eyelet dress, the rich blue color makes it 10x better!
And ah man, the fence and privacy of a home is marvelous, isn't it?

hahaha, I LOVE how pale you are! That's precious. Maybe you could just buy some of that white costume creme that they have in Halloween stores for vampires. That might be pale enough?? ;) I jest, I jest!
And ooh, you went to the mall! Gasp, how out of your element! But I'm glad that you scored from Old Navy. Man, I haven't been there in a long time. I remember I used to go there for basics all the time.
I adore your pretty navy dress. Navy always looks so cute on you!
That dress is just amazing! That color is just perfect on you! Glad that you have been having such a great time with your sister! My sister and I like to hang out too, but she isn't a thrifter so that can be an issue when we hang out, but we make it work!
xoxo,
Laura
