Building a Vintage Wardrobe

You guys, I finally found the perfect vintage jeans. I showed a snippet of them in my last post, but I had to showcase the full look. I've seen others wearing the most adorable 40's inspired jeans (I have a few bloggers in mind...) but I never wanted to shell out the prices for them at online vintage shops and such. I did the silliest, giddiest happy dance when I found these the other day! They are the most amazingly comfortable high-waisted beauties and I am in love. I haven't taken them off, really this whole weekend. They even have that fabulous seam down the front of the legs that I love. Plus they are the perfect length. I hit the jackpot. And at only 5 bucks all of my vintage dreams came true! I have about a thousand ideas for how I want to style these so you'll probably seeing a lot of them :)

I feel as though slowly, but surely I'm finally building the wardrobe that I want to have. I kind of expected to just be able to find everything I wanted right away, in only a few shopping trips. I've come to learn though that it takes time, patience, and a lot of trial and error to create a vintage wardrobe. It is difficult, but so rewarding to find just the thing you're looking for under a pile in the thrift store. Plus, I kind of love mixing old an new pieces together, it's become a kind of style of it's own!  I have a long way to go, but I'm having so much fun getting there :)

I found this cardigan the same day I found the jeans. I pretty much haven't taken the cardigan off of my body either. It is so warm and cozy and has the cutest buttons I've ever seen! Not to mention it is the most perfect color on the planet (and for 2 dollars and 39 cents). I love my thrift store :)

This weekend we spent in my husband's hometown. I got to spend some time shopping and talking with my mama, which is always my favorite thing to do :). And wouldn't you know it, I didn't buy a thing! I'm such a good girl.
I also spent quite a bit of time editing family photos and hanging with my in laws. What a great weekend!
Did you do anything lovely?
God Bless!

I know, it takes forever to build that perfect wardrobe, huh? Haha, I feel you. I'm still figuring mine out - but I think I'm getting closer. Especially since I started blogging! That's helped me figure out a lot :)

Aww I'm so glad you're getting closer and closer to your dream vintage wardrobe! It's definitely fun seeing you get new pieces that you love and use all the time. :D

I think I'm getting better at figuring out what I like, but not 100% so. Hopefully I'll be getting closer to my dream wardrobe, too! ;) It's like a huge journey!

By the way - I do love the redesign of your blog! :) That banner looks great, and good background choice to match.

I'm no where near my dream wardrobe - I don't have the cheapest of styles, but I do have a frugal spending style so they don't play well together. Glad you're having so much fun with yours though! :)
