Lowry and the farm

My state is cool sometimes. Last week before we made it to my grandparents, we made a pit stop in a little town with quite an amazing attraction, and a story to go with it. Sean's grandmother told me about this little town that lets people shop secondhand merchandise for free (with a free will donation) during the summer. Apparently there are several thrift stores in the Twin Cities that have merchandise which they cannot sell or keeps getting donated back to them. These items were destined for a landfill, until a couple of ladies in this little town (population 7) decided they would fill up a barn with all of the stuff and let people shop for free. I knew I had to trek out there to see what it was all about. I expected just a small room with a few racks of items and maybe some curtains. Boy was I surprised! There was a large barn filled with clothing from vintage to modern, bags, vintage shoes, and more! I went a little crazy, to be sure. Also all of the money gets donated to missions work as well, so it really was a worthwhile experience. I loved it so much I'm gonna go road trip with a friend there again next week! I can't help myself! :)

Here's all that the town is, a few buildings and a couple of houses in the background. Pretty awesome if you ask me :)

I wanted to get a few shots of the gorgeous sky we had to gaze upon this day. South Dakota has some beautiful landscapes. I wish I could see things like this every day-too bad I live in the city!

When we made it out to my grandparent's I couldn't resist taking a few photos on their farm as well. There was a beautiful sunset to be sure!

Thanks Jen for the photos!

That is a really neat concept! Might as well get it some use somehow right? I wish this place was closer to me!

I adore your plaid dress and I know I've told you before I like the kitty bag!

Wow- how nice of those people, but smart too so they aren't bogged down with donated goods but getting them to ppl who will use them.

Ha- I forgot to mention how much I really like this outfit too- you can't go wrong with a blue cambray tied over a dress. Plus all the backdrops are fantastic. Hope you take lots more photos out there :D

What a fantastic idea! I would go a little crazy in there too, I bet!

Also, you look so pretty - that dress is awesome! And the background! My heart, it swoons and breaks. Swooning because I love South Dakota! Breaking because I haven't been there since high school and I miss it!

Your dress is adorable by the way, and I love how you styled it with the denim shirt:)

Haha, crazy! The "Lowry Mall" you stopped at is actually part of my new family I married into! I can't recall at the moment which relatives help do it, but I think it's Taylor's Aunts and Grandma that put it together? I haven't had the pleasure of going out to it yet, so nice to see a photo of the place I've heard about! :D
