Corridor of Hope

Hello friends! Well, another week is on it's way through and it has been a pretty great one :) The play was over on Sunday, so I've had a few days off which is spectacularly wonderful.
Yesterday my friend Anna and I had the day of my dreams! She does makeup for a living at the moment, so she came over on her day off and did my makeup for me, then we went thrifting at this beautiful antique shop in town, and then we went all over the place taking blog photos and headshots of one another! I could seriously do that every day, it is so fun. Not to mention, she is an amazing photographer, so I can't wait to edit the photos and show them to you all! I'm begging Sean for a new lens now, since she had a couple different lenses that I got to try out :)
Anyway, more on that later!

Here is a set of photos the husband took of me quite a while ago. Someday I'll catch up and start posting photos at the time they're actually taken, but eh life happens, right? I got this cute little dress at a rummage sale down the street from us, and while it's a tad short it works perfectly with leggings and a little heel for running errands.

I got these earrings a couple of years ago from my sister. Every time I wear them I think of the organization from which they came. They are from a website called Corridor of Hope which is a company that circulates their profits back into poverty stricken communities to help orphans. The organization not only benefits orphans through the sales that they make, but they employ women from two different places in Thailand who are either at risk for sex trafficking, or have been saved from sex trafficking. So the women make beautiful jewelry-giving them a safe place and a trade that they can use- and the money made from that jewelry goes to help children who are orphaned in the area. It is such a wonderful way to help two causes at once and I honestly would love for you to check out the website. Good cause aside, the jewelry is absolutely stunning and I would wear every piece of it. It is great quality and the materials are beautiful. I am so glad my sister introduced me to this company and I can't wait to buy my next piece from them!
Just so you know, this is not a sponsored post, just a cause that I feel very strongly about :) and don't mind sharing my love of the product.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
God Bless,
KJA

hehehe, I love that you found a website that a) has cute jewelry and b) a great cause. There's really no better combination than that. Sometimes you've just gotta share a kind AND beautiful brand! :D

And your dress is totally cute. I love the little buttons (aaaah, buttons are the cutest detail ever!) and the ruffles around them.

Makeup and thrifting and blog photos?! That sounds like an amazing day! Gosh, if we lived closer we could definitely do that on a weekly basis, hehehe. I kind of wish I had more creative blogging friends around here. Well, I do, but I either see them only during school when we're both super busy or they live far away in town... ah well! One day!

Glad your day was awesome. :)

Thanks for sharing the site. I always love a store that offers cute pieces & helps out...gives me an excuse for something new! Haha.

Love the outfit. Is that denim on denim? If so, you did it in a super cute way!

The site says that the shop is down for maintenance. Even if I bookmark it, I will probably forget to come back and check it out--so if you wear a piece from there again you should mention it. :) I am interested in what they have.
