A Little Jacket Goes a Long Way

I will admit it, I am a jacket junkie. Some of my favorite items to look for at thrift stores/rummages are blazers of all shapes and sizes. Some of my favorite jackets are ones that I found as part of a suit, but they wear just as well (or better!) as separates. Take this little, cropped blue jacket for instance. It has a tiny blue shift dress to go with it, however the dress is about 3 sizes to small for me. Amazingly though the jacket fits perfectly! So now the dress is with a friend and this little number is one of my favorite pieces. I love shorter jackets because one can have such fun playing with proportions. They work especially well with all things high waisted which of course I have in abundance :). Take this skirt for instance. I have worn it in so many ways. I absolutely love the length. I have these really short legs that need a bit of elongating and I really enjoy how midi length skirts and heels help with that dilemma.
These photos are some of my favorite because we found some gorgeous trees to use as a background. Hopefully the leaves will stick around a bit longer so we can have some more fall foliage photos :)

Well, another week is starting. I have been sick going on two weeks now and I'm becoming slightly worried about being able to run my 5k this weekend. At this point I'll have to walk the dang 5k with a kleenex in my hand, oi vey. I just hope I can make it through work as it is slightly difficult to teach with a waning voice and such. Luckily my kitties have been keeping me company by cuddling with me all week long and making me feel so much better :) I'll have to post some more pictures of them soon as they have gotten so much bigger! Little buggers...

God Bless!

Psalm 40: 1-2
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

Using the suit jackets as separates is such a great idea! I love the color :)

You look wonderful Katie, I love your hair and the emerald green top. Can you seriously move near me and do pretty vintage hairstyles for me every day?!

Your jacket is so beautiful. This has been one of my favourite colours in recent times. The cropped style makes it more versatile and also really classy.

It's okay, I'm totally obsessed with jackets too! Especially little cropped blazers like this one!
