Hullo friends! Are you all having a good week? I'm still recovering somewhat but I'm forcing myself to get out and do a few things anyway. On Sunday Sean and I went to see a few friends in our community theatre's production of Sleepy Hollow! It was a production with mostly young kids so it's always a pleasure to witness young actors doing their thing, especially when it is a musical. How fun!
It is starting to get very cold out though. So cold that I pulled out one of the new coats I got from my grandmother this summer! Among them was this wonderful 1950's swing coat that I am in love with. I adore the accentuated shoulders and wide cuffs.
This outfit is actually made up of a top and skirt. I found the suit at a rummage sale for 50 cents and it is silk! I love finding items made of nicer fabrics at rummage sales. It makes me feel so giddy! I've worn the blouse a bunch of times but this is the first time I brought the skirt out to play. I thought I'd be a bit matchy-matchy with the bag that matched the ensemble :) This was a fun one.
Sean and I are running a Halloween 5k on Saturday! We worked out tonight for the first time in like 2 weeks so we're pretty bad at this whole thing. I'm not looking for a great time, my goal is just to be able to run the whole thing without walking. We shall see how it goes :)
Have a fabulous day everyone!
God Bless,
KJA

Well, now you look like a 100% "that girl from the Notebook". Seriously, the whole outfit is maximum vintage, I freakin love it. This coat is the most beautiful coat in the world O_O
Great look - love the color on the cardigan!
Aaaah Katie, I really just love this whole outfit! What! THAT COAT! It's such a soft, beautiful shade of pastel pink... and I can't get over the orange coat underneath, either. You look like the pumpkin princess (that's totally a compliment--who wouldn't wanna be a princess of pumpkins? :D) <3 <3
Good luck on your 5k! I bet you'll do awesome. Haha, my goal would to be to not stop running, either, so that's a good thing to shoot for.
Yes, it certainly has gotten cold hasn't it! Love the coat - and I also love the orange jacket! Good luck with the 5K - I'm going to start training for one as soon as the doctor clears me after baby!
WOuld never have guessed that it was a two-piece look and not a dress. How much fun you will have with those separates. In this outfit, I am especially liking the combo of orange with that green. Perfect for October and fall.
I LOVE that orange blazer!! This outfit is just stunning, all around. And Sleepy Hollow is so fun! The children's theatre company I work with did that a few years back... I think they should make it a yearly tradition!! Good luck in the 5k - WOW!

Oh my gosh! Your style is so opposite of mine, but I just absolutely love this! Your hair, the shoes, the outfit, the coat. Just gorgeous!
I literally gasped when I saw your outfits. You nailed this vintage look---it could've come right out of a period movie. And is that a vintage D&B? I got a cream and brown one on ebay once and it's held up for years!
