A Foggy Morning

This was probably my most fun photoshoot to date. Since the hubby is away I decided to take my tripod out and try my hand at a little photography practice. I'm usually pretty horrible at using the tripod because I don't have a lot of time. However this morning I looked outside and noticed how gorgeous the fog was. I knew I had to throw together an outfit to capture the lovely morning! I took my time and instead of spending 10 minutes using the tripod I stayed outside for about 40 minutes. The weather was surprisingly fresh and gorgeous. There was a fall crispness in the air, but also a little warm breeze that just made me appreciate so much about the autumn season. It was perfect!
I most enjoyed the scenery and lovely curled leaves, I hope you do as well!
I'm also trying out something different with the look of my blog-making sure all the pictures are the same width across the layout. I think I like it because it's easier for the eye to scroll down when everything is uniform. What do you think?

I found this absolutely amazing coat at a rummage sale this summer. I have been waiting until cooler weather to be able to wear it. The lady I bought it from was delighted by the outfit I wore, which included at hat. I think she was happy to see the coat go to someone who truly appreciated the beauty of it. It is a vintage military Navy coat with authentic anchor buttons. It is also extremely heavy, which will be great for this winter. This lace dress is an ancient Target find that I rarely wear because it is pretty fancy. For this ensemble though it was perfect! I also could not resist styling up this fabulous dress again. It is from my surprise swap with Kristian as a part of Flock Together. Here is how I styled it the first time. I love the thought of layering dresses- especially in the cooler weather. I also adored how the flutter sleeves added a bit more of my personality into the ensemble. Let's just say this look was one of my favorites to wear!
A couple more details to mention are the hat and shoes. This hat was given to me by one of my very best friends. She knows my taste completely! I believe she found it at a vintage shop, and I cannot believe how perfectly it fits me. The sweet little bow in the back is the most whimsical touch. Finally these shoes I procured years ago when my sister was cleaning out her closet for items to bring to the thrift store. I practically grabbed them out of her hands and said, "No, these are mine!!!" Apparently she had bought them to wear in her middle school project about prairie life, and I reaped the benefits!

I hope you have a very magical day, may you be blessed!

ooOOOOO KATIE these pictures are seriously gorgeous! I can understand why they're your favorite batch so far because they're just so super stunning. The backdrop is gorgeous and I love the warm colors of autumn. That blue coat pops so well against the background, too! Such a good vintage find!

This is my favorite look of yours to date, I LOVE these pictures! The navy blue against the neutral backdrop is perfect. The photos all at the same width look really good too! Can't believe you took these yourself!

Gorgeous! These definitely look like photos that should go in a magazine - they're very "editorial".

You must have a crazy nice camera (and fantastic photography skills!), because those close-up nature shots are amazing.

Okay, so several things...which means a list!

1) I LOVE the backdrop- and also that you took pictures of the leaves and things. Created a good sense of place/story

2) Having your photos the same width is great. I've liked your photos before but it always seems somehow more...polished when they are all the same size.

3) Also like the photo collage you did!

4) What?! I totally didn't realize that was my dress there till you pointed it out! You are so creative with it.

5) Best for last- you are such a stunner in this! That coat looks amazing.
