Outfit: Carpet and Flowers

Why hello there! I was a bit of a slacker this weekend and didn't schedule any of my posts. I was away visiting my lovely mother and sisters! My mother and one of my older sisters and I attended an event put on by the local hospital called, "No Boys Allowed!" Which was an event just for women about our health and things we can do to stay healthy. It was quite the experience for a few reasons. It was fun to be there with two of my best gals of course, but it also was VINTAGE themed! It could not have been decorated any better in that place. They had mannequins with vintage hats and dresses, the decor was just beautiful. I wasn't wearing this outfit, I was wearing my loud red swing trousers and a bright blue hat, haha. It was perfect. After walking around looking at booths about health and also eating some delicious food, we got to listen to two speakers that evening. One of the speakers (to our surprise) turned out to be my sister's and my doctor (who lives in a completely different town than this event was held in)! We joked that we were getting a free appointment :P It was quite a night of weird coincidences for sure.
It certainly was fun though to spend a bit of girl time hang out this weekend. I also got to see my favorite three gals on Sunday who were in my wedding! They were little then, but they certainly aren't so little now! They showed me their bow and arrow shooting skills, their adorable crop of baby goats, and we even had a little fashion show too. Doesn't get any better than that :)

And this outfit, I just thought it was a neutral kind of day a few Sunday's ago. I wanted so badly to wear this hat even though the lining is completely coming apart inside...oops! I need to fix that. It matched so well with the carpet bag it was kind of a no-brainer for me to pair the two. I absolutely love carpeted accessories. Actually I'm that weird person who would like this type of carpet on her floors...or at least on my couch? Ya, that will probably never fly in our house....
I did a little tutorial a couple weeks back on how to accomplish this hairstyle. It is a bit different, but the same procedures apply. It's ridiculously easy too, not to mention fun to wear!

Well, other than spilling water on my phone this morning (it is now sitting in a bag of rice next to me...) the day is going splendidly. I have a kitty in my lap and it is shaping up to be a gorgeous day for weather (and a run!), so I certainly have nothing to complain about.
Have a wonderful day you beauties! Also, don't forget to pop on over to Never Fully Dressed (Without a Style) today to see a segment on Women in History I contributed to for women's history month!

God Bless,
KJA

May I just snatch this entire outfit from you!? The color scheme you're wearing is just to die for. And your little hat, aaaaah! Lemme fangirl over you for just a bit, okie dokie? :D

I'm glad you were able to have some girl time. No Boys Allowed has to be the best name for that event, hahaha! And I love how it was centered around health, too (with plenty of delicious things to eat). It sounds like a nice way to unwind, so don't even worry about not having things to post! It's times like that when I just put up some art, hahahaha. Have a magical week, katie!

You look so much like Rachel McAdams it's scary! :D Love the cute vintagy hat, can't believe something pretty like that exists!
And the event sound like lots of fun! I wish I had more girly days, sometimes spending your time with the boyfriend is not as fun! :D

I love the dress and coat combo, you're sooo pretty!!!

Really, really elegant, classic, completely lovely ensemble. I really like that you opted for a brown, not black (or other dark coloured) shoe here. It compliments the earthy tones of the outfit so well.
