Just How old ARE You?

Those were the words my husband spoke to me as we were taking this set of photos. Apparently the poor chap has realized that he just may have married a 65 year old lady instead of one in her 20's. I couldn't resist this get up however! I had curlers in my hair and some baking to do so the headscarf was necessary really. Not to mention the glasses just completed the look entirely. Hot pink lipstick may have been pushing it, but let's just say I'm Malibu Grandma Barbie. I like that :)

Weekends are the most fantastic time. Friday night Sean and I stayed up until the most ridiculous hour watching old episodes of the Twilight Zone while he cleaned out a few drawers and I put my new curlers in my hair. It was an evening quite well spent. I got a new set of curlers that were wrapped in satin hoping that they would just be the best thing since cat eye glasses. Sadly I was not overly impressed with them. The clasps kept snapping off (clasps are the most important part of overnight curlers) and it was such a trial to get them put back together while your hands are behind your head. It was manageable though and I still might keep them because I need a set!

I also had the strange urge to do a bit of pie baking. Sean doesn't eat pie (seriously, I don't know what is wrong with him), so now I am stuck with this humongous thing all to myself. Anyone want to come over and share :) ?
I feel like I look rather like my grandmother in these photos. Every few nights she sets her hair in curlers and puts a scarf around them just like this. That is how I'm used to seeing her :). It's beautiful :). I never really thought I looked much like her, but I can see the resemblance in these photos! I think this might even be one of her scarves.

Hope your weekend was just as lovely! We even got the prettiest little flurries of snow here (even though it is spring, winter doesn't seem to have figured that out).
God Bless!

Visiting your blog always makes me happy Katie, and seeing you rock a head scarf while wearing curlers underneath? It made my day :)
Hahaha! And girl, you know if we lived close by I would totally be in your kitchen with a fork in my hand. Hehe, Sean doesn't like pie!?
That's so cool to see family resemblances, huh? I remember how my strong jaw would be something I disliked about myself, but during one trip to the Philippines, several people made that connection that I was the granddaughter of my lola. We couldn't look more different since I appear more like a white girl than my Filipino roots, but its because of our exact same jaw that they could tell. Now I'm proud of it :)

I think you're right, Katie, I think we have the exact same cardigan! Haha doesn't that make two things, with the flower bolo tie necklace? You look adorable.

Whaaaat?! What man doesn't enjoy some delicious pie, especially when he has an adorable wife who makes it. I'm glad you're venturing out and trying new outfits, and the fact that you're wearing curlers is just precious. You're too cute, Katie, you are!

Also, thank you so very much for your kind comment. I'm amazed at how many people have actually taken the time out of their lives to read everything that I've rambled on about... but you are so very lovely for being so sweet about it. There are definitely other things I need to worry about that define me, like school and grades, not just how I look. :)

OH my gosh, you look so adorable! I have to admit, I'm such a sucker for the "grandma" look. I would do the same thing when I have the curlers in - which I have to tell you isn't often as I would like. I love that dress and those glasses are so fun!
