Layers

I took these photos when the light was fading quite quickly. I'm still getting used to it being dark now when I leave work! It seems so late and I just want to fall into bed when I get home.
I wore this to a lovely game night with my coworker and friends. I made the most delicious and easy chocolate cheesecake. It was sooo good you guys. We left the rest there so Sean and I wouldn't eat it when we got home! haha. That's what I love about friends. I can bake up a storm and give away most of it so that I don't eat it all ;)

The best part about last night was that I got to skype with my sister whom I haven't spoken to in around 6 weeks! She was without reliable internet access on her mission trip and we so missed talking to her and getting updates on how she was doing. It's going to be quite different not having our family complete with the holidays approaching. We told each other lots of stories about life and it was quite lovely to laugh with her and see her gorgeous face.

Sisters are the best, for sure :)
God Bless all!

I try to give away the goodies I bake too! Otherwise I'd weigh an extra 50 pounds I'm sure!

I love the pretty dress and the tweed jacket is fabulous!

I love the neckline of this dress and this bright blue works so well with the deep red of your tights. I'm still impressed with your layering. I never would have thought to wear that top under that dress. Beautiful.

Can I get that cheesecake? Sounds amazing!

It's so strange having a sibling in a different place. Thank goodness for Skype! Such a brilliant invention. Without it I'd never get to talk to my little sister.

You know, I really appreciate not only your unique, vintage sense of style, but how you incorporate Bible verses into your post. So encouraging to read that! :)
Anyway, love the layering going on here girl. The collared blouse under the dress, floppy hat, and tights are perfect together!

Oh, how I love your style! The jacket gives this a kind of equine vibe and an adventurous, almost-androgynous feel. Yet the dress (what a lovely color!) with the lace details brings it back to feeling feminine. What a fun juxtaposition!

P.S. I don't mean to be nosy, so if this question is bothersome, I understand...however, what denomination are you and your sister? How long and where is her mission? That's awesome that she is doing one!

Katie you always look gorgeous and classy! I love the layering here & think I need to thrift myself a little tweed coat! They seem to go with everything! Also, I just bought this hat you're wearing after seeing it on you a few weeks ago! I LOVE it! I made sure to link to your blog today as you were my inspiration for the purchase lol.
Glad you got some quality sister time in, hope you're having a great day!

I have been catching up on blog posts lately, and let me tell you all of your posts are so lovely! I'm swooning over the oxfords and that vintage coach bag, I keep seeing!

Also, this blue lace dress is gorgeous!

Good luck in your new job, hon! You will do wonderfully. :)
