Review: Jord Watch

Hello, hello! I claimed that I was back, and then took another week break from blogging. Silly me.
I wanted to make sure that I mentioned a lovely brand whom with I have been working called Jord. Jord contacted me about trying out one of their stunning, wooden watches! I have been in need of a new watch and when I looked through their website I was flabbergasted at how lovely they were. Each one is made from natural wood, and so the rustic quality of the watch is ever so charming. Aaaand it just so happened to match my favorite vintage suit. So there's that.
Take a peek at the photos below and you'll see what I mean.

I also wanted to try out some very simple finger waves this weekend. They certainly aren't authentic finger waves, but enough to give a nod to the era. I will have to practice with some more sophisticated materials than bobby pins and see what I can come up with in the future. It had me aching to lop my hair up to my ears a'la young Bette Davis though. Someday, someday.

Look at how stunning this watch is! I received the Ely watch in Cherry and absolutely adore it. The great thing is that this particular style is so classic that it seems as though it is timeless! It is extremely well made and the clasp is different and more innovative than any other watch I have worn in the past, making it easy to put on.  That is a bonus because sometimes it can be a struggle to put on a watch or bracelet by yourself with clasps like puzzles!
They have a range of trendy styles as well, so be sure to take a peek at their selection. I just love the two toned styles they have in their collection!
The only complaint I have is one that I struggle finding watches to fit my small wrists. This one is a bit loose, but that won't deter me one bit from wearing it.

What do you think of Jord watches? Would you wear one?

Have a lovely day all!
God Bless,
KJA

Spotlight: Aviva Dress

Hello there!
Today I am spotlighting a fabulous dress website- Aviva Dress! Aviva Dress is a UK based company specializing in gorgeous special occasion dresses. They have everything one would need for an event including prom, homecoming, and wedding attire
Although I have already been through all of the major events in my life, I still enjoyed looking through the selection of diverse dresses Aviva Dress has to offer. There are long and short prom dresses, evening and cocktail dresses, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, mother of the bride/groom dresses, and they all come in a wide selection of shapes and sizes.
Here are a few of my favorite picks from their website!

 Wedding Gowns:

(Keep in mind the dresses I chose are geared to my own personal style, they offer many strapless, satin, ball gowns, etc. as well!)

Not only does Aviva Dress carry hundreds of dress styles, but they also offer a selection of jewelry and accessories (like petticoats, veils, gloves, etc.) for your special occasions as well. I am a pearls girl, so I fell in love with these two sets in particular. The one on the left is something I would have loved to wear with my own wedding dress!

The best thing about this company are the prices. I remember my gracious mother paying hundreds of dollars for my prom and wedding dresses, but at Aviva Dress I found evening dresses for as low as $63, and wedding dresses for as low as 80 dollars. For those of us who have a small budget to work with, I know how important it is to find a beautiful dress without paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars to do so! And if we're going with this wedding theme, don't neglect the bridesmaid dress selection with a huge range of color options sure to fit your event in a price that won't make your friends loathe you for choosing it.

Fast shipping time takes the stress off those who have a short amount of time to work with. Wedding dresses process within 12-15 days, and ship in 3-5 days, and the number is even less for other special occasion dresses.

Lastly, and probably most importantly, Aviva Dress offers the option to custom order your dress to fit your own measurements. Nearly every individual I know has had to have their fancy dresses altered to fit them, sometimes at a very costly price. Aviva Dress offers this option for just $10, asking for a bust, waist, hip, and length measurement. This way you can be sure that you beautiful dress will fit, even though you are ordering online.

The reviews on the website speak to the incredible quality and fit that Aviva Dress boasts. Thank you for reading a bit about this company, and if you have any occasions coming up make sure to take a look at their website!

Review: DressV Polka Dot Bag

Hey there friends! I don't work with many brands because I don't really reach out to companies, but recently I was contacted by a company called DressV to review one of their items. I had never heard of the company before so I visited their site and had fun looking through their inventory! Their main site is all about special occasion dresses- bridal, prom, etc. with so many beautiful garments! What I really enjoyed looking through was the line of accessories they carry. They have a selection of really unique and fabulous bags, shoes, jewelry, and more!
In looking through their bags, I decided on this navy and yellow shoulder bag with polka dots (see it here!). I thought it fit my style really well and would just be a fun statement piece. I wasn't disappointed! The bag has hand straps and an adjustable shoulder strap. It has two end pockets which close with magnetic snaps, and the main pocket zips closed. The most fun detail I found was the twist buckle closure on the main zipper pocket. It secures your bag from being pulled open and is a great element to the bag. I've even thought about using this as a second camera bag because it is such a nice size-not too big and not too small. It's the perfect everyday bag! Plus the classic shape will never steer you wrong. It also comes in red and navy (I had a hard time deciding between the two color combos :) )
The bag isn't real leather, but sometimes it's nice to have a bag like that when you live in a climate such as mine. I can use this in the winter without having to worry about getting it wet and muddy, it will clean very easily. The bag is also under $40! That is a good price for something that will last you several years, and look cute in the meantime! Most of the products on DressV are well priced, which I enjoy because I wouldn't have to feel guilty about buying their products.

I enjoyed looking through  the products on DressV.  In particular this pair of shoes caught my eye because I love butterflies so much. Sadly, their shoes only go up to US size 8, but if any of you wear that size or smaller you need to check out the shoe section as well. So many different styles to choose from!

In the end I certainly would choose to work with DressV again in the future. My item arrived quickly in very secure packaging, the options are great, and the representative I worked with was so sweet.
Check them out if you need anything for a special occasion, or just a fun statement piece! You can find their website here :)

God Bless!

eShakti Dress Review

Why hello there you visions of loveliness! Today I am showcasing a beautiful dress courtesy of eShakti If you haven't heard of them before, well, where have you been hiding? You need to know about this wonderful company! eShakti is a customizable clothing website where you can find vintage inspired dresses, skirts, tops, and jackets. These pieces are truly special-I would wear every single item on their website! The real treat is, though, that you can customize nearly all of the items you buy by neckline, skirt length, sleeve length, and general measurements. This means that you get an item which truly fits you perfectly instead of taking a gamble on a random internet purchase which may be too big or too small when you receive it in the mail. There is a fee to customize some areas, but if you have ever experienced a garment being way too short/long, etc. you know how worth it it is, especially if you value modesty as I do.
The quality of eShakti garments is truly exceptional as well. The fabrics used are not the cheap, disposable kind you find at your local retail store. They are made of sturdy cotton and jersey knit fabrics.
Take this red dress that I received for example. My experience with jersey fabrics has not been a good one. They are usually very clingy, unflattering, and all around of cheap quality. I chose a jersey knit dress from eShakti because I was curious how their fabric would compare to the alternatives. I was so pleasantly surprised! The fabric is thick and soft and all around super comfortable, without being extremely casual which was my fear. I can even wear a petticoat under the generous skirt of this beauty!
If I had one critique with the dress (and I'm being nit picky), it would be that perhaps the knit and cotton fabrics fit differently even though they are the same size? I have a cotton poplin dress from eShakti as well and it fits perfectly according to my measurements. I ordered this same size in this red dress and it seems to actually be a bit loose around the waist and bust. Perhaps this is because it is a bit stretchy, and the cotton is not. Just something to be aware of if you decide to peruse the site.

In complete truth, I had the most difficult time deciding which item I should review from eShakti. Every single item is beautiful, and will last ages. Check them out! Just don't blame me if you want to buy every single piece, ok?
Oh, and did I mention nearly every dress is made with pockets? Yep, pretty perfect.

Have you had any experience with eShakti? What did you think?

Have a great day all!

God Bless,
KJA
