Outfit: Laid Back

Hey friends! After a little break this weekend I'm kind of dreading getting back into a busy week. To combat this, I've been wearing a lot of laid-back, casual ensembles like this quite bohemian look I sported last weekend. These comfy, tan boots go with just about everything, but definitely give a different vibe than I usually accomplish. I'm liking it and I can definitely see the warmer weather begin to affect my attire recently. Easy dresses and minimalism are definitely beginning to influence my style, we'll see how long that lasts!

My surgery last week went well, I'm still quite tired and can't do a few things  (such as go for a run) for a couple of weeks, but I am grateful for how well it went and am hoping work this week won't be too intense. I have my helper teaching all of the lessons this week so I'm sure I will be less stressed out (as long as the kiddos cooperate that is). :)

Have a blessed Tuesday friends,
KJA

What I Wore to Work: White Top and Jeans

Hi beauties. Last week was so nice I was able to snap some photos after coming home from work, which means I have a few posts where I am wearing normal person clothing GASPPPP shock and awe. I try to maintain some of my personal style while at work, but it is a tad bit different than my preferred attire. I like loose fitting tops and high waisted jeans because I spend the majority of my workday squatting and bending to do various things with the kiddos. The hair is always up, it's just how it needs to be. My scarf collection comes in handy for that! So, this is how I came out after playing in the hot sun and woodchips for three hours, you can certainly see my face got a bit rosy! Also a reminder that I need to begin bringing sunscreen with me where ever I go.

Yay, you can see some of our flowers pushing back through the ground in the next photo! See the little green shoots buried under all that weeding I need to tackle? Yep, pretty excited about that!

Do you all have a bit of an Easter break coming up? I have school off tomorrow (Friday) and Monday as well. They call it our Spring Break which is kind of silly because we all know it's for Easter! But I'll take what I can get.
I have a bit of a small surgery coming up tomorrow. In the interest of over-sharing (any uninterested parties reading this may choose to close their screens now) I am having a nasty little polyp taken out of my uterus, which has apparently been torturing me for longer than I realized and hopefully with the dang thing out it will make my life a whole lot easier. I may not post again until next Tuesday, depending on how I feel afterword (although my doctor tells me it isn't a very in depth procedure, thankfully).

Until then I hope you have some time to enjoy your Easter (if you celebrate) or at least time to enjoy with family.

God Bless!

Palm Sunday

Hello you! This is a simple 1940's outfit I wore to church this past Sunday. Just a seemingly basic vintage dress paired with my grandmother's teal coat.  This dress, however, has many unique details, from the cute collar, to the shoulder pads, to pockets, and my personal favorite- a front zipper. The dress zips up the front, which means no puckery buttons threatening to pop off at any moment. Huzzah for curvy girls!

It was terribly cold and windy when we took these pictures. It was quite jarring to go from sunny and 75 to windy and 30 degree weather the next day. I froze up like a popsicle after these photos!

Alright dolls, this gal has some lesson planning to do so I will make this short and sweet! Enjoy your Wednesday!

God Bless,
KJA

Bike Style Video

Hey there little friends! We had a glimpse of spring and then it was cruelly snatched away from us by another little coldsnap. It's amazing how once we have a few nice days my students think they can come to school without coats. Eesh, it was only 30 something yesterday! Anyway I digress. In inspiration for spring I wanted to share this tiny little video with you all. Modcloth emailed a few souls and asked them to talk about what they would wear on a bike ride, so I happily obliged and made this blip of a video which is narry a minute long. It might have been longer, but about half the videos Sean shot of me (bless his heart) were terribly blurry so I had to work with what I had ;) It was fun to make and certainly makes me long for warm weather bike rides! Enjoy!

Outfit: Let the Rummaging Begin

Greetings! While the weather has taken another little downward turn, I'm still basking in the glow of last week and all of those 60-70 degree days. It was in the 70's here on Saturday, so Sean and I decided to do our first bit of rummage sale-ing which is my (and I think secretly Sean's too) favorite Saturday activity. It gets us out walking and exploring our city. Plus it's much better than traditional shopping. There are things for both of us to look at instead of one of us being bored while I look at clothes or he looks at electronics. It's also such a cheap way to quell that shopping itch. This past weekend we found a beautiful quilt for our guest bed, several books, and a couple of other little treasures, it was a great day!

I went for a four mile run that morning, so my wet hair went up into a bun, and I donned my new Hot Paris Pink lipstick. I just have to complement Wet'n'Wild on their lipstick collection. I hate spending money on beauty products, and at 96 cents a tube, I can justify trying out a new shade every now and then.

This little man-made reservoir/lake is a few blocks away from our house in our neighborhood and I kind of freaked out when I found the quirky mint green benches along this little trail. Can I get one for my house please?

Have a splendid Monday Peaches!
God Bless,
KJA
