Victory Rolls

Well, chalk this up to one of my favorite outfits to wear ever. Sean and I had a busy day on Sunday and I was so comfortable and cozy all day long in this ensemble. Sunday consisted of church, where we heard a great speaker named Timothy Willard. I hadn't heard of him before but he is an author and speaker who gave a great message on an authentic relationship with Christ. It was a really convicting message and I was glad to hear him speak.
After church we spent some time at the diner having lunch with a couple of great friends! They are a couple from near my hometown who I grew up with through summer camp. They are similar to Sean and I in many ways, so it was great to catch up with them and talk about life, house hunting, and job stuff. We stayed for a few hours at the diner just chatting!

The diner was the perfect spot for some photos of this rather 40's ensemble. I tried some victory rolls in my hair which turned out quite swimmingly, surprisingly! I usually have trouble with victory rolls because my hair is a bit fine. However I still had quite a bit of curl left from the other day, so it helped to give it some structure and body. I'll have to make a couple of tutorials soon for the different styles I've been trying out. Most of the time I just experiment and take whatever comes from that!

After the diner, Sean and I met our realtor for a look at a couple more houses. We actually found one that we fell in LOVE with. We haven't found one that we both like yet, so it was great to find something we agreed upon. We put in an offer for it last night and are just waiting to see if the offer gets accepted. I'll let you know as soon as I find out! The anticipation is sort of killing me. I was up at 5am this morning like a kid on Christmas.

This suit is the third I received from the woman at Benson's Flea Market a few weeks ago. She gave me this one for free because it was a bit rumpled, but I just adore it! The darling collar on the jacket and the pleats on the skirt are just perfect for the look I was going for and I can see getting a ton of use out of this in the future. I cannot believe it was such a steal!

Lastly, I found out that I got into the play that I auditioned for! I can't say too much yet, but I can at least tell you that I made the cut. I can't wait for auditions to begin! Hoorah!
Well my dears, I have some lessons to plan that I didn't get to with all of the craziness yesterday. Have a lovely start to your week!
God Bless,
KJA

She gave it to you for free because of wrinkles? That is awesome! Nothing that can't be fixed! I love the plaid, seriously cute. Crossing my fingers for your house and congrats on the play! I can't wait to hear more about that too!

Oh, Katie, I just LOVE your hair! I'm glad that you were finally able to win victory over victory rolls. Guess that's another hairstyle you can add to the Katie Aman Hairstyle Collection, yeah? :D Haha, you could totally make a book based on all your pretty hair styles! It's definitely a large component of your blog, I think.

I adore that you're wearing socks and loafers together. Such a cute combination! And that pleated red skirt is lovely, too.

Also, congrats on finally being able to decide on a house--and one that you fell in love with... even better! Hooray, hooray, hooray! It sounds like it's just been an awesome weekend for you. Hope the rest of the week goes the same! <3

What a classic look! Love that plaid jacket (if that's the right word for it? Haha). The pop of the red skirt is pretty too.

And good job with the hair. Wish I knew how to do that!
