Plaid Blazer

Oversized blazers and skinny jeans may not be the most flattering silhouette on my short, curvy frame-but my goodness if they don't make me feel cool! I like adding girly touches to a look like this, such as floral cameo earrings and a matte red lip.
I actually just went lipstick crazy recently and added quite a few to my collection...I always seem to move from obsession to obsession when it comes to my fashion choices. For a while it was buying vintage blouses, then blazers, I moved on to accessories, and now it's makeup I guess-particularly lipstick. As for shoes, I'm always in the market for shoes :) haha.

I just got the set of Style Me Vintage books in the mail a few days ago! Have any of you read them? It's basically a set of books on vintage hair and makeup tutorials and one on clothing. I'm so excited to start trying out some new things with my hair and makeup! I just went and got some new supplies today like clips to make finger waves and a whole lot of mousse :) I can't wait!
Have a great day darlings,
God Bless!

Haha, I know what you mean by wanting to wear things that aren't necessarily flattering to your figure... I really like the look of oversized blazers on others, but it never suits me right. However, I think you look amazing here, Katie! This look is so bold and it looks especially tough with those boots.

Haha, I do the same thing...I tend to dress as if I'm some tall, leggy model. Pfffff, yeah right. Ah well, I think you can pull off a skinny jeans-oversized blazer look Katie! I love this classy look. :)
And lipsticks, huh? For me its always gonna be shoes (much to my parents chagrin...haha, they're always saying how I have too many!)

Your makeup is amazing! Also, this outfit is so cute! And I think that it looks super flattering! I think I need to make a trip out to South Dakota to do a little closet swap, because that jacket is amazing. :P

I would copy this look in a heartbeat. I always feel so dumb when it comes to wearing pants and definitely would lean to more of a vintage look like this one...you are a modern day Katherine Hepburn for certain! I really think I had that same blazer when I was in high school...I need to dig and see if I still have it in my possession :-)

I love this look! I would love to steal that blazer! I think I go in spurts of what I like to buy the most too - lipstick can definitely be fun!

I am definitely going to copy this look! Your lipstick is a great color - can you tell me who makes it and the name of the color? I'm planning a trip to my favorite thrift store today to look for a blazer like this, I only have a few lightweight, summery ones but I need to find a warmer one like yours!

Love the plaid blazer! Those books you got sound amazing, I definitely need to start branching out a bit with my hair and makeup, I think I will be more motivated to do so when I am not always wearing a winter hat!
Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Oh, I hope you do a book review or something to tell us if you liked the books. I've gotten Vintage Hairstyling: Retro Styles with Step-by-Step Techniques (http://www.amazon.com/Vintage-Hairstyling-Step-Step-Techniques/dp/0981663915/ref=pd_rhf_sc_s_cp_3_6D6D) and have really enjoyed it, so in the market for more.
