Pearly

I've really come to love the color green in the past several months. I hardly owned any of it and now whenever I see a green blouse of some shade it is difficult for me to pass up! Sage, mint, avocado..I love it all!
I also finally grew my tights collection a bit and bought some cheap, fun colored pairs at Target. I thought these orange-y/red  pair complemented the green nicely and added a bit of quirkiness as well. They were super warm and comfortable too!
This skirt I've had since middle school (about 10 years ago!). My mom bought it for me because I needed a suit to perform for oral interp. I wore it to just about every meet for the next five years and got quite sick of it, but I'm glad I've rediscovered it now! It is so well made that I'm sure it will last me probably another 20 years at least and one can never go wrong with a basic black pencil skirt! Plus I like the longer length of this one. It makes it more versatile for me.

I loved the little pearls on this top so very much. I was afraid they might be obnoxious, but they really lay quite nicely and seem to be fastened on well. I have so many ideas of how I want to wear it! It's made of the greatest material too-I had it crushed it my bag for two days and it didn't even wrinkle. Now that is my kind of top, seeing as how I haven't touched an iron in years...except to make melting beads with my students! haha

I snapped a few indoor shots as well- and my beautiful mama decided to get in on the action! She looks like she could be my sister, does she not?

I'm still working on what to do for my kiddo's holiday party tomorrow...I'm thinking make a bunch of Christmas cookies for them to decorate? Do some crafts? I can whip up lesson plans like nobody's business, but when it comes to party planning I'm at a loss...Got any ideas for me? :)

Happy Wednesday all :)
God Bless,
KJA

Also I couldn't let today go by without mentioning that it's been twenty years today since I lost my daddy. I was just a three year old baby girl when it happened. I wish I could have gotten to know him better and have more time with him. I am so glad that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me more deeply than I could ever imagine, and a mother who stayed strong for her three little girls. I have been blessed beyond belief with so much in my life and am continually thankful for each day given to me on this earth. I know how short our time here really is and that is why I choose each moment to talk about how amazing my Savior is. My older sister wrote this, which I think sums it up perfectly.

Psalm 13:5
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.

Oh I totally agree- that red/orange pair was the perfect touch to your outfit! I've been eyeing a pair like that ever since I saw Hannah wear it on her blog. And I'm exactly the same way with red pieces now the way you are with green. I never noticed them and now I can't stop wearing them!

And I have a few pieces that I've had for years too- you can't go wrong with classics ;) This is a super pretty outfit, I love how creative and quirky it it!

And hugs to you about your dad, Katie. I think it's wonderful that you still remember him like this.

Aw, that pearl embellished top is the cutest! I love it with the bright red tights you're rocking. Green is such a pretty color - I've been hunting down a deep jewel shade that I want in it.
You and your mom are gorgeous ladies! Love the photos you took together :)
And also, I cannot imagine how it would be to grow up without a father, but thank God for a Heavenly one is more than enough for us, huh? Its through His guidance and your mother's that you've grown into such a loving woman who's beautiful inside and out! I truly respect you. :)

Those pearl accents are definitely NOT obnoxious! They're super elegant, in fact! I adore them with the lovely color of your top... such an elegant top that is. However I don't know how you managed to brave the cold in such a sheer top. ;) Hope you've got a jacket waiting for you, lovely!

That top is adorable! I really am loving green as well this season, I don't know what it is, but I'm not fighting it. :)

Also, how fun that you have had that skirt since middle school. I don't think I could say that about any my clothes. Of course, I probably wouldn't want to - ha!

Hmm, the little kiddos might have fun decorating cupcakes for Christmas and then they can eat them for snack! I'm sure you will think of something awesome. :)
