2013 Outfit Roundup

Well, it's yearly roundup time! I cannot believe another year has passed so quickly. I chose some of my favorite outfits from each month, ensembles  that I think exemplify the progression of my ever changing style preferences!
I have been through a lot of different events in 2013, including buying a house, participating in community theatre, running a 5k, and opening my Etsy Shop-Midwest Charm Vintage! I hope to continue to accomplish more of my goals in 2014 (one of them being to actually establish some concrete goals for myself instead of just thinking about them abstractly in my mind).  So here are some tidbits  and outfits from each month! If you want to see last year's roundup you can find it here :)

I hope you enjoyed looking through all of those photos! I always think it's fun to look at a sampling of outfits and see how one has changed or stayed the same :)
If you want to see my collection of Flock Together posts you can do that here as well, I had quite a few favorites that fall into that category.

God Bless you in the New Year and I hope you have a wonderful time reminiscing about your own growth in the past 12 months!

Isaiah 43:16, 18-19
Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters, “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

Festive

Well, I am certainly glad for Christmas vacation and the fact that I still get one even though I am an adult now. I was sick much of the past week, so I'm looking forward to having a couple of days off to get a bit of work done on some projects at home.  The days just fly by and before I know it there isn't one thing checked off my to-do list! I was at my in-laws for Christmas this past weekend, so I decided to put on some mild red and green for the occasion. Mint and red is probably my favorite color combination, so I felt just delightful in this ensemble! I really want a kitchen that is this color palette someday. At the moment I don't have much wall space in my kitchen, but I would love to try and add some checker boarding of some kind in these shades. Just don't tell my husband :)

So, any of you bloggers out there who use blogger: do you have trouble with blogger altering your images when you upload them. I am constantly adding pictures that come out super grainy, or lightened, or smoothed out, etc. Example A: the picture below. It looks way different on my computer than it does here. I'm not sure what to do about that?

I decided to give myself a faux bob again. I'm really restraining from cutting my locks. All the people around me in the real world tell me to keep my long hair, while a lot of you commented that I should cut it. I'm just afraid of one of those middle school kerfuffles where you chop off your hair and everyone exclaims how much they loved it before and WHY ON EARTH would you ever cut it?! Haha. I'm sure I'll take the plunge soon but for now, a concealed faux haircut is what I'll have :)

This past weekend, as I said, I was at the in-laws having our Christmas time together. I got to go thrifting with my husband's grandmother (which is always grand), and I even found the most amazing piece of furniture to add to our home! It is currently in the back of my father-in-law's suburban, but soon Sean and I will have the most beautiful red, marbled 1950's diner table in our kitchen!! I could not be more excited. I found one similar to it a little over a year ago, only it was yellow and Sean wasn't so keen on it. As soon as I laid my eyes on this red one I loved it. Not only is it in great condition, but it came with two extra leaves, which are usually lost or broken by this time. That way we can have a nice sized kitchen table, but put in more leaves when family visits-it's just perfect! I cannot wait to get it into our home so I can put on an apron and bake a pie or something. Now all I need to be on the look out for is some vintage dishware to set atop the beauty. I'll get pictures as soon as we can get it set up, but here is something similar I found on Google:

Have a splendid day friends! Hopefully now that I'm feeling better and things aren't so crazy I'll be back to regular posting again :)
God Bless!

John 14:1-3
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
