Pumpkin Harvest Festival

I absolutely adored wearing this outfit. This green cardigan is perhaps the most perfect color and I couldn't resist pairing it with my polka dot romper and a sweet little blouse underneath for a collar! I tried something a bit more dramatic with my hair also! I think It turned out quite swimmingly and it is definitely something I would try again. I just experimented really. I don't have any curlers at home (something I really should invest in), so I used an old prescription bottle to get the rolls in my hair. Then I just pulled more and more back until in looked right! Kept up nicely despite the wind too-perhaps because I used quite a lot of hairspray...Oops!

I'm so glad I purchased this romper at Ragstock several years ago. It has been one of my favorite pieces to play with my retro style. I'm able to style it up as if it is a 40's or 50's piece, when in reality I'm pretty sure it's from the 90's. But, add a collar, some red lips, and a vintage hairdo and voila! One can turn the time on any garment :)

Be prepared to be inundated with enormous amounts of photos of pumpkins, trees, and maybe an apple or two!
Sean and I went to a pumpkin harvest festival this weekend that was near town and I had the best time! The weather (although a bit windy) was just perfect for this sort of thing with warm sun and a  divine crispness in the air that kept us on our toes. I was most excited for a hayride. Driving though the pumpkin patches and apple orchards with out feet dangling off the edge brought one back to feeling just like a little kid again! The brisk air meant that Sean and I had to snuggle close and it was quite a cozy, gorgeous ride.
There was even a small petting zoo with the most darling donkeys you've ever seen, and some seriously gorgeous scenery. I'm so happy we got to spend a couple of hours outside on such a breathtakingly beautiful day. Chalk this up to one of my all time favorite fall memories!
