Remix: Vintage Riding Jeans

Today's remix showcases these wonderful vintage jeans I thrifted a couple of years ago. They are my favorite pair of jeans and I still haven't found another pair to rival their timeless look. Do you have some pieces in your closet that you adore, but you don't want to wear them too much because you're afraid of the day they will wear out because they are one of a kind? Yep, the struggle with wearing vintage!

Remix: Polka Dot Skirt

Hello and happy Friday! It has been a trying week, so I couldn't be more happy to see the weekend on the horizon. Weekend busy-ness is always better than work week busy-ness, yes? 

For today's remix I am focusing on this fun polka-dot skirt that I've had for over 5 years. I bought it (along with a matching brown polo) at a rummage sale with my grandmother and sister, and it was one of the very first vintage purchases I made, one that sparked a love for vintage clothing! I think I've gotten better at styling it over the years and it will always be a staple in my wardrobe (anything with polka dots likely holds that title :) )

Remix: 1950's Yellow Blouse

Today's remix is this darling 1950's blouse of my grandmother's. It is such a pretty color and I have always enjoyed the pretty collar detailing. I was surprised I only have four remix photos this time, since I love this top so much. I suppose it's one of those "special" pieces that I have a fear of wearing too often for fear it will wear out/get ruined or some such nonsense.

I thought I'd rustle up some cute alternatives to this blouse for you all to look at, they're so perfect for the coming fall weather, all in a pretty mustard yellow shade!

Friday Remix: High Waisted Jeans.

Well hey there kittens! For this week's remix I thought I'd showcase one of my favorite pairs of jeans, since I do wear jeans quite often on the bloggy. This particular pair was in a batch of clothes that my sister was getting rid of. I snapped them up for myself! It's nice being the younger sister sometimes.
I want a legit pair of vintage 1940's jeans (real or repro) but I just don't have the money to spend nearly a hundred dollars on them (which is what they cost at most online retailers). Until then I am having fun with this modern, vintage-esque pair that I can roll up and wear with loafers, wedges, and fun hairstyles to suffice for the moment.

Did you all have a good week? I have a busy weekend ahead of me consisting of a flea market, shopping for supplies for work, looking for a paint color for our house, basically just a lot of forms of shopping. So, a typical weekend really :)

Remix Friday: Jean Jackets

Why hello there! The week back to school went pretty well (except that there is no air conditioning...yikes), and I figured with summer coming to an end I would do a remix of how I've worn my favorite jean jackets the past couple of years. I have a few that I have found at rummage sales and they are all on regular rotation, with slightly different proportions and details. It has been blazing hot this week, but maybe I can pull one out again soon if it ever cools down!

It looks from these photos as though I mostly wear jean jackets with dresses or skirts, but I actually do wear them with jeans quite often on my more casual days.

Remix: Grandma's Blue Blouse

An item I have loved time and time again in my closet is this vintage blue blouse of my grandmother's. Whenever I find a vintage collared blouse at a thrift store I buy it, regardless of its size. They are just so perfect to throw under dresses and cardigans, or just be worn by themselves! But this blue beauty grandma made takes the cake. It has a dainty little collar, pleating down the front, and little white buttons. I love it. I want to learn to make one so I can have one in every color and print imaginable (I just said that about my last dress, too. Sheesh :) ).
