Inspiration: Vintage Trousers

My last inspiration was on menswear/suits, so this week I wanted to focus on the girly side of  pants from the 1930's and 40's. I absolutely think that high waisted trousers are can be classy, girly, and cute at the same time. I think they are just as important in a girl's wardrobe as a pencil skirt, and sometimes can be even more necessary if you live in a place where it is winter 8 months out of the year like I do! I'm still on the hunt for that perfect pair of neutral trousers (since the last ones I bought turned out to be bright red, haha). I firmly believe that when I learn to sew (which WILL happen someday soon!) a pair of vintage trousers will be my first real attempt. I would wear all of these looks in a heartbeat, which is your favorite?

Happy Thursday!

  2. I would also wear all of these outfits in a second! I wish high-waist trousers were more common now because I find them a lot more flattering on me. They are infinitely chic, too, even when worn casually!

  3. I love all of these, trousers would be one of the first things I learned to sew as well!

  4. As a recent convert to trouser wearing after being a skirts/dresses only person, I love all of these styles.

They are so feminine in cut and would help to overcome many of the modesty issues I have when wearing trousers in public.

  5. I have quite a few pairs of pants like these but I have a hard time finding shirts to wear with them. I have one cotton knit sweater set (tank top with a cardigan) that I think will work but finding tailored short sleeve blouses is difficult. Any suggestions?
