Fashion: Inspired by Teddy Girls

I felt like a total teddy girl in this outfit (minus the cigarettes). I'm actually infatuated with their style because I feel like they were the hipsters of the 1950's, in my eyes. They pushed boundaries and didn't wear what everyone else was wearing at the time. Plus they just looked stinkin' cool. I'm not sure their behavior is anything I would want to emulate, but I certainly can admire their style. The look was kind of a nod to Edwardian fashion mixed with the rock and roll culture of the 50's. I teased my hair sky high and donned some loafers and I was ready to go!

Are you all having a great week? I've finally worked myself up to running two miles straight again. I kind of fell off the wagon for a couple of months around the holidays (per usual), but I feel pretty great that I can pick it up again and hopefully run another 5k this spring. That's my accomplishment for the week! How about you, what are you proud of this week?

God Bless!

These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.

  1. I hadn't heard of the Teddy Girls before so I looked them up and they are so so cool, you would fit right in! They sort of reminded me of the Ed Wood movie "The Violent Years" which is about a girl gang in the 50s! This week I am most proud that I completed my first knitted sweater, which is the first really big piece of clothing I've ever made! Have a great week!

  4. You always look SO SNAZZY in pants! Just the classiest lady around, you are, Miss Katie. I adore the color of that blazer and my goodness, your hair is just so LONG! Your hair is like my hair goal. Maybe in 67 years when I am old and wrinkly my hair will be that long. :"DDD

Hope you are having an excellent week! Happy Wednesday!

Congrats on hitting your running goal, too! I suppose what I'm proudest of this week is that I still haven't gone completely insane from all this snow. :D
