Hullo friends! Are you all having a good week? I'm still recovering somewhat but I'm forcing myself to get out and do a few things anyway. On Sunday Sean and I went to see a few friends in our community theatre's production of Sleepy Hollow! It was a production with mostly young kids so it's always a pleasure to witness young actors doing their thing, especially when it is a musical. How fun!
It is starting to get very cold out though. So cold that I pulled out one of the new coats I got from my grandmother this summer! Among them was this wonderful 1950's swing coat that I am in love with. I adore the accentuated shoulders and wide cuffs.
This outfit is actually made up of a top and skirt. I found the suit at a rummage sale for 50 cents and it is silk! I love finding items made of nicer fabrics at rummage sales. It makes me feel so giddy! I've worn the blouse a bunch of times but this is the first time I brought the skirt out to play. I thought I'd be a bit matchy-matchy with the bag that matched the ensemble :) This was a fun one.
Sean and I are running a Halloween 5k on Saturday! We worked out tonight for the first time in like 2 weeks so we're pretty bad at this whole thing. I'm not looking for a great time, my goal is just to be able to run the whole thing without walking. We shall see how it goes :)
Have a fabulous day everyone!
God Bless,
KJA

ReplyDeleteGreat look - love the color on the cardigan!
ReplyDeleteAaaah Katie, I really just love this whole outfit! What! THAT COAT! It's such a soft, beautiful shade of pastel pink... and I can't get over the orange coat underneath, either. You look like the pumpkin princess (that's totally a compliment--who wouldn't wanna be a princess of pumpkins? :D) <3 <3
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your 5k! I bet you'll do awesome. Haha, my goal would to be to not stop running, either, so that's a good thing to shoot for.
Yes, it certainly has gotten cold hasn't it! Love the coat - and I also love the orange jacket! Good luck with the 5K - I'm going to start training for one as soon as the doctor clears me after baby!
ReplyDeleteWOuld never have guessed that it was a two-piece look and not a dress. How much fun you will have with those separates. In this outfit, I am especially liking the combo of orange with that green. Perfect for October and fall.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that orange blazer!! This outfit is just stunning, all around. And Sleepy Hollow is so fun! The children's theatre company I work with did that a few years back... I think they should make it a yearly tradition!! Good luck in the 5k - WOW!

Oh my gosh! Your style is so opposite of mine, but I just absolutely love this! Your hair, the shoes, the outfit, the coat. Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI literally gasped when I saw your outfits. You nailed this vintage look---it could've come right out of a period movie. And is that a vintage D&B? I got a cream and brown one on ebay once and it's held up for years!
