Simple Basics

Can I just say that this outfit is one of my favorite of all time? It has nothing to do with how it looks or anything like that. More like how it made me feel. I felt simple and comfortable in this and it was perfect for an afternoon spent editing photos this past weekend. I piled my hair on top of my head with a chopstick, put on some lipstick, and I was set for the evening. Sometimes classic, neutral pieces are just the best. This skirt is a piece I received from the kind-hearted and beautiful Dus of Cuddly Cacti. She sent it along with another jumper for our Flock Together Secret Santa swap in December! Wasn't that just sweet? I'll admit, I hadn't figured out a way to wear it until now. But boy, now that I've figured out a way, I'll probably wear the stuffing out of it. It was one of the most comfortable things I think I've worn in a while! The length is just perfect and I have more than enough blazers to pair with it.

I got this, along with a few of my other favorite blazers, at a local thrift store a couple of years ago. They had a huge rack of blazers that were a dollar. ONE DOLLAR PEOPLE. I couldn't' control myself and may have bought like four.  I'm pretty sure it's some 90's boxy business woman's old throw-away, but I love the thing. It's more versatile than I ever thought!

Happy Wednesday friends! It's an errands running day for me, so ciao for now! Off to the bank, and the library, and the grocery store and...oh you get the idea :)
God Bless!

  4. Wait just a minute... You're telling me you only managed to buy four blazers for $1 each? I would have bought the whole rack. Self-control, good for you, Katie!! Hehehe.

I do like this blazer on you, though! And simplicity is always the best. You can never go wrong with a good hairstyle like yours and a simple outfit.

  5. Love this outfit, the skirt is such a great length (and nice neutral color!) and the blazer goes so well with it. I so wish that the thrift store I have near my house had $1 blazers. hahaha i'd probably buy all the ones in my size!

Lol joking! You don't look even close to that style. But seriously, $1 for a blazer!? You better have gone crazy! That's awesome :D
Love how you wore this one, especially with the maxi length skirt.
Plus, curls piled atop your head? Gah, can you get any prettier!?
Haha, a lovely, simple ensemble that's definitely still eye catching <3
