Happy Easter everyone!!
I hope you're all having a simply splendid day. The sun is shining here and we had a wonderful church service this morning. I do wish I had gotten to go home, but I suppose that is part of growing up. The thing I miss most is that our church sings old hymns. So many churches now just sing all new music and don't seem to appreciate how beautiful the older music is. The words were so much more poetic and profound in my mind. Some of my favorites are Nothing but the Blood of Jesus, Christ the Lord has Risen Today, and How Great Thou Art. What are some of your favorites?
Of course, I had to wear the closest thing I have to an Easter bonnet today. It's tradition! I paired it with one of my favorite vintage jackets and a pair of grandma's gloves. I think robin's egg blue, white, and yellow are such perfect spring colors.
And, a few photos with the hubby!
Happy Easter darlings, never take this day for granted. Jesus took all our sins upon Himself so that we could have life!
God Bless,
KJA
Luke 24:1-8
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In
their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but
the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.

ReplyDeleteYou look adorable. Love the hat.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in Madison, I was used to hymns since that is what First Baptist sang. Then I moved back home and got used to contemporary music. Now this morning I was at a church in Sioux Falls and they sang all hymns, and it felt so funny to me. I get used to one thing and then the other seems so odd. Happy Easter!

well done, darling.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Easter outfit! It's perfect! I hope you had a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about the older ones being more poetic and profound--those are the perfect words to describe them. They just seem to echo better in your mind, I suppose. Everything is trying to be modernized and made ~cool~ these days, so I guess that's most churches' attempts to fit that mold.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your service was still wonderful, though. You look just stunning! I love that beautiful blue skirt and your gloooves... your gloves! They're so very dainty and pretty.
You look so adorable here! This is the cutest, most vintagely perfect Easter outfit ever. You look like you stepped out of a 1950s magazine, which I envy. I LOVE that skirt, and that jacket, and oh, everything! Hope you had a lovely Easter!
