Photos from a Snowy Thanksgiving

We had the most lovely snow when we were in  Sean's hometown last week for Thanksgiving. It started off with tiny little flurries, and before we knew it the most beautiful, huge flakes were falling from the sky. "Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes" anyone? :D I had so much fun frolicking in the beautiful stuff, and then promptly went inside to warm up, help my mother in law make strudels, and watch the gorgeous snowfall through the window.

I love remixing thick sweaters and simple dresses once the weather cools down. They are so easy to throw on and make me feel cozy and ready for hot chocolate and baking. Not to mention dresses are way more comfy than jeans or other fussy outfits.
I think it's amazing to see how what I wear has evolved over the years. I used to wear only sweatpants or jeans and t-shirts ALL THE TIME. Although, I suppose that is typical of high school and college kids? It's just more functional that way (or so I thought at the time). But now I rarely wear jeans. Only to shop or run errands for something casual. Give me warm tights in the winter any day!

Well, today is my first day going it solo at my new job! I still feel like there are many things I'm not prepared for, but I just need to make the mistakes on my own from now on and learn how to deal with all of the different kiddo's personalities.

Have a very happy Wednesday and I hope you have a chance to smile a lot today!
God Bless,
KJA

  2. That dress is super cool. The pattern and the colors look great together!
Here in Carolina it rarely snows for Christmas, let alone Thanksgiving! It makes snow all the more magical when it does come, though!

  4. You are too cute running around in the snow! I like the blue stripes- they remind me of fine china for some reason. A bit reminiscent of the prints on china maybe?

By the way- what town in SD do you live in?

  6. I seriously just want to steal your whole closet- that dress is SO PRETTY. And I love how you mix color- who would have thought a minty green belt would go so perfect with red tights? And I'm totally the same way- I almost never wear jeans. I'm wearing a bright green pair today and fidgeting uncomfortably haha, dresses all the way!

  9. Oh my word, so much snow!! :D I absolutely love these adorable photos of you frolicking in the snow flakes. I really do enjoy seeing the cute skirt/dress outfits my fave bloggers wear (like you!). Its all about the tights too. Haha, I've amassed a large collection of them from my high school years. I went to a fairly strict private school, and part of the dress code were knee length skirts/dresses for girls. I think now that I'm free to wear pants in college, I'm kind of "rebelling" by collecting jeans now. Haha, but I'll be willing to pop out a dress or skirt now and then :)

  11. So so pretty Katie! As much as I loathe winter, seeing these photos makes me want to go frolic in the snow and sing, "These are a few of my favorite things"...hehe. You really are a vintage maven and everything you don has me so inspired. I can't picture you in jeans and sweatpants...I was a total punk/skater girl in college and not only skateboarded but wore silly things like zipper legged plaid pants, arm socks, and spikes...it's always funny to look back and see how far we've come over the years :)

  12. Awe, Katie, these pictures are full of pre-Christmas magic! :D Such lovely little snowflakes these are, floating around and being captured as little blurs with your camera... so nice. :) I can only hope it will snow down here in old Alabama at least once this year!! Many of my relatives live up in North Dakota/Montana and they gets tons of snow as well, so I guess this is just the beginning for you, huh? ;D

The print on that dress is super cute, and I love your tights and brogues together!

  14. What pretty photos! I need to get some pictures in the snow this winter. Although if it never snowed I would probably be okay, because I sort of hate that white stuff. Really I just hate the cold.

Anywho, I LOVE this dress. The pattern and colors are so gorgeous. :)

    xoxo,
