Sister Weekend :D

What a lazy, fun weekend I had visiting my sister! Saturday we scraped the inch thick ice off of her car and spent part of the day downtown. After freezing our tushies off and sliding all over the sidewalks walking like 80 year old women, we went back to her apartment and promptly cuddled under the electric blanket and watched movies all night long to warm up. It. Was. Awesome.
Thanks Jen for the fantastic weekend and for taking my pics this week! Loooooves you! :D

Hope you all had a splendid weekend :) Now on to the short week ahead before Thanksgiving this week!
God Bless,

A Puppet Show

I had the opportunity to go on another field trip with my class this afternoon. We went to see a puppet show to the books "Good Night Moon" and "The Runaway Bunny." The actors were a group from Nova Scotia and they used black lights on the stage. The kids just loved it! There was soft music all throughout the show and it was very dark...one of our kids fell asleep and we could not get him to wake up! Super cute :)

I was so excited last week when I found this vintage coach bag at Savers for only 20 dollars! I found a similar bag on the Coach website and it was around 300 dollars-I couldn't pass it up! I'm not really into namebrands, but I don't think there is a woman out there who wouldn't love a coach bag in her wardrobe. I'm especially happy with this one because it is so classic. I can wear it with absolutely everything, and the ease of cross-body bags is something that is fairly new to me.
I would probably describe most of my wardrobe as quantity over quality. I have a lot of pieces, but not many of them are super high quality. This is my first leather bag so I'm like a giddy little girl who's very excited with her big girl purchase. I made Sean buy it as part of my Christmas present because I NEVER spend more than 10 dollars on any item in my wardrobe. I'm cheap :)

Hope you're all having a splendid week darlings!
God Bless,
KJA

Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair...

I'm still working on editing pictures from the little photoshoot I had with my friends. However, until then I have some pictures from that day my hubby took of me out in the forest. I bought a bunch of fake flowers that were 70% off and made this wreath with my Rachelle. It was not the easiest thing to do and didn't turn out initially how I wanted it to, but I was happy with the end results. I just didn't expect it to be so big! :) haha. I loved all of the colors of the flowers though and had fun taking some shots. The colors in my outfit actually matched the flowers perfectly! Thanks to my Sean for taking pics :)

Oh, and yes this was BEFORE I got my haircut...so I still have insanely long locks in these photos...

The past couple of weeks have been kind of crazy. I feel as though I have been playing catch-up during the week for all of the laziness of mine on the weekends. Weekends just aren't long enough to be able to relax AND get work done! So I choose to relax and hang with family and save the work for Mon-Fri. That's how I roll.

Tomorrow I will go to the Pavilion with my first graders to see a puppet show! They are putting on "Good Night Moon" and "The Runaway Bunny." I'm pretty excited to spend the day having fun with my kiddos and watching them have a little downtime for once, instead of always having to tell them to get back to work. I think that's one of the hardest things I've found out about teaching. I just want to play with my kiddos and listen to their fun stories, but I always have to be strict and get them to do their work. For goodness sake they are six years old. They just want to have a little fun! So yes, I'm excited :)

I hope you are all having a splendid week!
God Bless all you lovlies :)

11-12-11

Rachelle and I went out on the town on Saturday to do a little antique shopping. We came away with quite the armful of spoils. I cannot divulge my purchases here, as some of them are going to be given as Christmas presents. Let's just say it was a great day :)

The gorgeous Rachelle was decked out in a fabulous vintage mustard jacket and lots of color, while I kept my palette black and white. Later that day when our best friend Alyssa drove in we had a vintage photo-shoot in the woods-photos to come!
Here are the pics miss Rachelle and I took of each other on Saturday during our shopping excursion.
