Time, oh time-where hast thou gone?

Well, after not blogging for most of the summer, it's almost hard to get back into it. I feel like it's going to take some work for me to want to start posting again. I've liked just sitting around in my pj's and doing stuff around the house for the past few weeks since we've been married. Sean is at work all day, so all I do is sit around, do dishes, and maybe go to the grocery store once in a while. My camera has not been working the best so that's my excuse I suppose, that and we just finally got internet not that long ago. But I have a few photos to show you. These were mostly taken at the beginning of the summer, because I haven't taken any recently! I will have to put up some honeymoon pictures as well, even though those are mostly of bears-taken at bear country!

These first pictures are of some of my breakfasts. Please don't ask why. I just thought that they looked pretty. Also, I'm pretty sure that I'm obsessed with home-grown strawberries. Homemade jam is kind of my favorite-I put in on everything! I know the pancakes look ridiculous, and I'm pretty sure I ate every last bite too. YUM!

The next few photos I took on my way to a wedding. One of my close high school friends got married and it was a lovely (warm!) day! I must have been losing my touch a little bit because the photos really are terrible, but that's ok!

Lastly, I have been doing quite a bit of baking now that I have my own kitchen and can do pretty much whatever I want in it! I love to bake. I've baked tons of banana bread, muffins, and bread! Although, our oven is very old and doesn't work that well, so I have to constantly check the temperature and turn the pan during baking because otherwise one side burns and the other side doesn't get done! Oooh the joys of renting...I'm just thankful to have a stove that works! :) Now if we could just get a washer and dryer life would be spectacular....haha!

Maybe tomorrow I will have a regular, normal outfit post for you :) And then this weekend Sean and I are going to the Cities for a kind of Honeymoon, even if it's only for the weekend. We're going to see Wicked at the Orpheum and I am so pumped!!! So hopefully we'll take lots of pictures for me to share :D
Love you all!

A short break...

Ok, this isn't really a post, but I thought I would let you know why the regular posting has stopped-I have been super busy!! And gone without internet access as well. I had a wedding all last weekend so I was running around not having time to take pictures and not having a computer to put them on and such. This week I had VBS all week long. I had to wear the same t-shirt all week with the logo on it and so didn't really wear anything super creative..haha. I know I should be posting verses everyday, but I've been trying to rest up and not spend a ton of time on the computer because for the next month I will be at camp-so I won't be able to post everyday..I may post on the weekends but that will depend on my schedule with bridal showers and who knows what else! Again, I'm trying to prioritize...Be assured that I will begin regular (hopefully daily) posting again in a month after camp is over!! I have missed blogging and want to continue to do it when I have time and when the wedding is over in about 43 days!! Yikes! It's coming so fast and I have so many little things that are piling up to do! But God will help me out :):) Hopefully you'll get back to reading in a month and things will be more normal with life :D

Titus 2: 3-5
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

It was really a blast :) We went for a picnic in the park and bought some shoes and talked-a lot! I love those three girlies like my little sisters :D Then I went to help out at church for VBS next week-The first time in years I'm able to help out all week teaching the kids-I'm excited!
Have a great week/end!!

Tea Parties and Fancy Jam

I already talked about how I brought home a plethora of vintage clothing items from my grandmother's house, and that my sister had taken photos of them. Well I found pictures today from when we were playing dress up in these very same dresses! It is so neat to remember all of the fun times we had in those dresses when we were tiny girls. If only I had known then that I would love them so much when I got to be old enough for them to actually fit me!! I just love all of the pieces I brought home and spent today hand washing them carefully and hanging them outside on the line to dry. I won't post pictures of all of them, because there are a lot! Plus I have some of them saved for special occasions coming up this summer, such as weddings, rehearsal dinner, bridal showers, etc.-hooray! The pictures from when we were little are horrible quality, so please excuse that.
We used to have tea parties every summer on my grandma's best plates. We'd put 'fancy jam' on crackers and drink tart, fruity juice. There was one tiara and we all took turns being the princess. We would have three tea parties a day so we could each be princess and that particular rosy cheeked little girl got the best dress, the gloves, the tiara, and goodness knows what else (the ability to boss others around perhaps? Which is extremely rare for a youngest child, who usually gets bossed around.) It was the best- I love sisters :):)

1 Timothy 5:1-2
Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.

She's the Lady in red when everybody else is wearing Tan...

haha, I love that show, The Nanny! She always makes me laugh! Too bad it's on really late at night so I hardly ever watch it...
Today I went to church and we'll have to see where the rest of the day takes me! I'm blogging early so that I can scratch that off my list of things to do today and work on things that actually need to be done...haha naughty me!
Had walking tacos for lunch and actually remembered to take my iron pill! That darn anemia...
I don't know if I will be able to do very many outfit posts the next few weeks. My sister (along with her camera) is moving tomorrow, so I won't really have anything to take pictures with, since mine is still broken. We'll see what happens, but I will still try to blog, even without shallow pictures of me!
Hope you all have a blessed Memorial Day :)

Psalm 139: 7-10
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

Windy City

Ok...so obviously I don't live in the windy city, but it sure seems like it lately! It's 90 degrees with 30 mile an hour wind gusts...whooosh! If I went outside with wet hair it would be dry in about 10 seconds.
I spent today going to a dress fitting, eating a sort of brunch (blueberry scone!!) with a great friend (one of my bridesmaids) and working on the wedding 'to do' list. It is slowly getting shorter-but it isn't done yet!

The week out at my grandparents was wonderful! We spent the days just being kind of lazy, reading, baking, exploring the old house on their property, which is pretty stocked with fun old things to look at. There are books, paintings, cracking walls, and best of all-Tons of vintage clothing!!!! My sister and I helped them mow their rather huge lawn (they live out in the middle of nowhere) so I figured I could reward myself with a shopping spree-what better place to go to than my grandma's old closet! I got a ton of vintage dresses, skirts, purses,gloves, scarves and even a pair of mens levi's jeans from the 70's!! holy wow...my poor fiance is gonna have to come to terms with my vintage clothing addiction, the poor soul. At least it doesn't cost any money!! Anyway, it was so much fun to look back at my grandma's old photos and see her wearing the very same dresses she was giving to me-with the date on the picture saying 1955!!! She had to patch some of them up for me to because the weak seams were popping...but she and I were about the same size, so they all fit me-how lucky!!
Anyways, I gave my grandpa a fashion show and it was so fun to see him remembering the exact occasions to which my grandma wore the outfits. He remembered her wearing one to a certain wedding, a dance, and he even stated "oh, yes she was quite the fashionable woman in her day, she had so many clothes I probably never saw her in the same thing twice before we were married" haha! Oh how I love my grandparents!
My sister took some photos of me wearing the clothes so I will be posting those maybe sometime this week.
I hope you all had a great week!

Today's verse:
Hebrews 13:5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Monday, May 24, 2010

Today was hot and windy, and I didn't have anywhere to go, so I decided to play dress up! I found this little girls dress in my sister's closet and decided to go play outside. Dancing, twirling and just frolicking! I won't be posting the rest of this week. I'm off to my grandma and grandpa's house where there isn't any internet access, or cell phone service for that matter. I may take pictures, but we'll see how the weather is. I will probably be helping her in the garden all week :D:D
Hope you all have a blessed week and I will be back with you on Saturday!

Psalm 100
A psalm. For giving thanks.
1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.

3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his [a] ;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
