Did you all have a lovely Saturday? I left the husband at home to play video games while I poked around in one of my favorite antique shops for the afternoon. It's this little hidden place that always has the best collection of gems. They always have gorgeous vintage hats, magazines from the 40's and tons of serving wear and jewelry. Swoon. I came home with two hats...although I wanted to grab about five of them...but I knew that would be frowned upon in our household ;) haha. The lady behind the counter told me that she just got a Christian Dior hat that she's going to put in the shop next week. I may have drooled a bit and I sort of wish she hadn't told me that. Now I have to go back. Darnskies...

This hat is one of my very favorites. I have some lovely friends who know me very well and I got this hat from one of them for my birthday! It might be the most beautiful vintage fedora that has ever graced my retro loving noggin. The shape, the color, the pretty ribbon on the back? Yep. I'm a bit hat obsessed.
Some of the items that get the most use in my closet are basics with a special detail. This white blouse is so versatile, but the pleating down the front makes it a bit fun. The cardigan is a basic shape, but it has such a pretty pattern and fun color. I love that!

Lastly I want to say Happy Birthday to my wonderful mama! I'm so thankful to have such an amazing mother to look up to. How blessed my sisters and I were to have her in our lives. :) Love you mama!
Have a simply fabulous night everyone :)
God Bless,
KJA
Here is an excerpt from Proverbs 31, of the wife of noble character. My mother certainly exemplifies these traits:
Proverbs 31:25-31
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
