These Pants...

Galatians 5:13
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

These pants sang out a sweet chorus to me when I saw them hanging on the thrift store rack the other day. They are glorious, with the perfect floral print and flowy wide legs. I'm in love! They will be perfect for the sweltering temps I'm sure are coming our way for summer. Eeep!

And this was my lunch this afternoon. I tried something different with my carrots, and I may just be a convert to this new way of cooking them. I cut them into rectangle shapes, sprinkled them with just a touch of brown sugar, and roasted them in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes on each side. They were warm and soft and just came out perfectly-who needs dessert with carrots cooked that way? Mmmmmm....:D

Today was another glorious day! I spent it doing odds and ends around the house, watching the trees bluster around through the window, and spending some time talking with my lovely mother on the phone!
When Sean got home we had a quick supper and then went for a lovely impromptu jog at our local park! We were planning on just taking a short walk, but I've been feeling so good these past few days that we ended up jogging a bit. I was able to run so much farther than usual! Now that I'm home I'm extremely sore of course...but it will be worth it. This is day two of running, let's see if I can keep up with it!
Buuuut, a delicious strawberry smoothie is calling my name...so if you'll excuse me ;)

God Bless,

This Jacket....

I had a really good day today. The morning started out with the most delicious breakfast EVER. I made homemade tortillas last night for supper. This morning for breakfast I had a tortilla with eggs, avocado, green peppers, and baby greens. It was delectable! I could probably eat it for every meal. After that I spent some time working out for the first time in over a week! It felt really good to be able to go for a run in the glorious weather-cloudy and cool is the perfect weather for jogging!
After Sean got home from work we went to the mall for a pretzel and spent the evening walking around looking at different gadgets in the kitchen store. I don't know why we love to do that so often. We're always like, "we need this nifty thing in our kitchen, I really don't think we could do without it." It's kind of ridiculous, even though we never buy anything!
Have a lovely evening all!
God Bless,
KJA

1 Corinthians 1:10
I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.

ps: I found this jacket at the thrift store the other day and knew it had to be mine. It has puffed sleeves and scalloped detailing...and it's made of the softest material. SWOON. Love how it is cropped too- fits my short torso! I'm sure I'll be remixing this in about a million ways :)

Blue Cranberries

Romans 15:5-6
May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sean and I found this pile of branches and decided it would be the perfect spot to snap photos. I have no idea what this pile was doing in the middle of a parking lot, but let's just go with it, shall we?
I wanted to wear my cardigan backwards today. I didn't have to worry about the buttons pulling in the front like they usually do and it was ridiculously comfortable.
It is a lovely, sunny day outside, so if you'll excuse me I think I'll go out and enjoy a bit of it! If only we didn't have to deal with this SD wind...

God Bless,

KJA

I can never eat when I'm in the depths of despair...

What a lovely day. I've spent it baking oatmeal cookies and watching my favorite movie of all time: Anne of Green Gables. I always longed to string a sentence together like Anne Shirley-everything she says sounds poetic and lovely.
I think even Sean likes the movie a little bit! I've been making him watch bits and pieces of it with me ;)

I bought these shorts at (where else?) the thrift store. They are a nice, soft material and I'm planning to wear them with tons of vintage blouses this summer!

Have a splendid Saturday evening lovelies!
God Bless,
KJA

James 3:17-18
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

This post is short and.....just short.

Not too much to say today, I'm consumed with laundry, dishes, and trying to make myself eat because I still have no appetite! Stupid medications.

What I wore to a church VBS meeting on Wednesday night:

Hebrews 6:10
For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.

God Bless!

Brights

I'm still behind on posting. This is what I wore on Tuesday, the last day of school for the students. We had a 'field day' where the kids got to be outside all day long doing fun activities. I thought a fun, bright outfit would be perfect for spending the day in the sun! Also, I figured my kiddos could spot me from anywhere wearing this blinding ensemble.

I found these amazing shorts at the thrift store and knew they would be a great statement piece for summer. I think I could pair them with any solid and be set. Who knows, I may even try some pattern mixing if I'm feeling a little wild! They are super comfy too with my favorite-pockets!

The kids love my bright walmart sunglasses too- one of them asked me, "who killed Elmo?" haha! What a little jokester ;)

Aaaaand, the one place I forgot to put sunscreen: the back of my legs. I guess I have calves that like to stick out towards the sun? I've never gotten burned there before! I will have to remember that spot next time I'm putting on sunscreen. It makes it very painful to shower with hot water-or to crouch down like I needed to do when we were working on cleaning out the classroom!

Hope you all are having a very lovely week. I am officially done with school now-teacher's last day was yesterday! It was bittersweet to be done. I kind of felt pulled between being extremely happy that this stressful year is done now that I am finished with school, and being sad because I am leaving a bunch of people I spent every day with for nine months and who knows when I will see them again? I also do not know what my future holds, which is a very scary concept. I am just trusting that God knows what's in store which is all I really care about anyway.

God Bless all you lovelies!
