Yellow Lines

I went a little mad men for church a couple of Sundays ago. I just couldn't help myself. This architectural yellow dress is just so fun to wear and called for a new 60's 'do as well.  This was such an experimental hairdo! I basically used this tutorial except I put my hair in a bun afterword and used the piece of hair reserved in the front for a little pincurl! I'll have to make a separate hair tutorial for this soon :)
So, do you all see how my dress is coming unzipped a couple of inches? Ya...we didn't notice this until after church when I was talking to a friend. I leaned over to give her a hug and my dress just came unzipped nearly down to the belt! Yikes...it was embarrassing. These vintage dresses are just finicky I tell you! Slippery zippers, weak seams, it's a good thing they're worth it!

Sooo...Sean and I went to the animal shelter this past weekend and may or may not have picked up a kitty or two...I'll be sharing more pics later in the week! I'm still trying to get some nice snaps of them where they aren't blurry from running around. Kittens you know. :)

God Bless!
KJA

John 6:26-27
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

Oh man, the worst thing is when a dress doesn't have that little closure thing at the top of the zipper... I'm always afraid that it will come undone in the middle of the day, as it did to you! But thankfully someone noticed before things got too frisky, hahaha.

Kaaaatie, this outfit si darling. The print of that dress... and the collar, and your belt and your lipstick and your hair... You are seriously channeling Mad Men right now! That, or you just stepped out of a super stylish time machine. Either or. :)

I hope you are enjoying your week (and your new feline friends, muwa ha ha ha). Have a woooondrous hump day!

SO glad to see you wearing this dress again! it's such a beauty (the color, the print, the shape! totally jealous!) ;) I have that same issue with my vintage dresses and zippers. So embarrassing! But worth it if you love the dress enough. :)

Ouu, new additions to the family?! How fun, those are some lucky little kittens (not to mentioned being saved from the shelter)! This dress is stellar and you look amazing dear! You're right, you're totally channeling that Mad Men vibe, which suits you so well. I know now that blondes CAN wear yellow :)

Omg you look so cute!!! Besides for the fact that the dress is beautiful with it's yellow color, ladylike shape, and cool print, you accessorized perfectly. And your hair! It all just works. Sucks about the zipper though, at least you realized before it was too late!

this dress is PHENOMENAL Katie! the print is so fun and i love the yellow color. i think we have similar complexions and i always think it's a color i cant wear so maybe i'll try now. so funny about the zipper, maybe you can put a safety pin inside w/ the the top attached to the top of the zipper? or something along those lines to keep it up. glad you and your friend caught it!
