Catch Up

Hello friends! I feel as though I got behind again this past week with doing another play. We had ridiculously long evening practices and then four shows from Thurs-Sun. Plus, each night we had to set up and strike the set because it was an outdoor venue, so that was a new experience for me! Hopefully I'll be able to get back into the swing of things with a new week ahead :).
BUT I did find out something fun, the director of our show apparently has a vintage etsy shop and I got to look through all of her merchandise at the cast party and simply DROOL over all of her inventory. I'm going to have to make a couple visits to her house to get a few goodies I think ;) and maybe she can teach me a thing or two about having a vintage shop and what all goes into it! I'd like to start one someday, but I also know that the internet is already inundated enough with them, so we'll see what the future brings. Although, there was mention of me and a friend getting to model some of her new pieces for her shop, which would be SO MUCH FUN! I'll let you know if that happens later on :)

This is actually what I wore around the fourth of July! I got this bag from one of my very best friends, Alyssa for my birthday and I thought it was perfect to debut for a day to celebrate red, white, and blue. It even has a pattern that resembles fireworks, so it was pretty much made for this holiday...even though I'm almost certain she didn't buy it in the US...Oh well!
I think high waisted jeans and loafers are my new favorite thing. They just always work well together no matter what and are the epitome of comfort.
A few of my good friends and I went to see Despicable Me 2! It was really great. We all laughed a lot and I think one of the greatest things about those movies is the collection of characters. Who doesn't love that cute little Agnes and all the minions? I highly recommend it :)
Also, as if I wasn't already enamored enough with I Love Lucy, I now found out that you can stream all of the episodes on Hulu right now! This could be a dangerous thing for the rest of my summer vacation...I just love everything she wears and want 3D television to be a thing so I can reach in and steal her wardrobe! Sighhhh.

Well lovelies, for an introvert like me this past week has been quite the doozy, in a good way. I met even more new friends by doing this short little play, and I will never complain about new friends :) I feel as though God is bringing so many fun opportunities my way since I started doing theatre again a few months ago and I am just so thankful for that. Slowly but surely I am finding myself able to do more things I am passionate about, which I know is all due to His faithfulness. When I am unsure, God is unwavering :)

Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

God Bless!

I definitely need a pair of high waisted pants!!! These ones are fantastic, and look so great with the bright red blouse. I really love that cardigan too, looks so cozy!
That would be fun to model the vintage pieces for her etsy store!!

You've got such classy vintage style and could totally be Lucille Ball in this outfit with that hair style. I am pretty introverted too so I know how awesome it feels to have social activities going on and that's great that you are discovering your passions :)

First of all, this outfit is just so adorable! I'm loving that bag and high-waisted pants just look so good on you! I keep looking and looking, but I haven't found a pair that works yet!

Also, glad to hear that you are having fun and meeting new people at the play that you are working on! Sounds like you are the perfect candidate to model for a vintage shop!

Katie, I am so happy for you starting up theatre again and meeting so many new people and having great new experiences. I haven't done theatre since high school (where I was crazy about it!!!) and I have missed it since then and have always considered getting back into it. After reading your post I feel like maybe I should look into it a little more...It truly helped me to express myself in so many ways that daily life couldn't, and was SO MUCH FUN! Glad you are doing this little play, and that God is working with you to bring good things into your life that way :) Also- do you mind sharing what the vintage shop is called that the director has on Etsy? Now I'm just curious, haha! Have a wonderful day :)

All these things- I'm so happy for you! It has indeed been quite the summer for you. Also- did you pick up any cute items from your director's shop? Or catch the name of it?

I love this outfit. The high waisted jeans look fantastic and that is a pretty shirt.

I'm glad that Despicable Me 2 was so good, hehe! I do love myself a good animated movie every now and then. I sure do wish my dad would like to see those more when my friends can't go, but he's an oldie and likes western movies and shoot 'em up shows, hahahaha. Oh...

I haven't actually ever watched I love Lucy, but I do remember that one episode where she has to smush grapes with her feet, I think? We watched that clip once back in one of my high school history classes and it was so funny. Maybe I've gotta join you on Hulu watching it, then... :D

Oh, that blouse is so gorgeous! And such a lovely, deep shade of red it is. Gotta love the tie and the slightly puffy sleeves, too! You find the most classic and darling pieces, Katie!! <3

Ahhh, you never fail to impress with your classy vintage looks! Your hair is always done exquisitely, too. That red top is just so lovely with those dark jeans--perfect ensemble right there!

Who doesn't love drooling over vintage pieces haha? I don't blame you. I'm glad you have a lovely experience with the play--outdoor sounds so cool! And I love me a good kids' movie every now and then too (: They're actually usually all I watch!

It's so inspiring to see God working in your life as well. I am constantly reminded that He has a beautiful plan for all of us.

Have a lovely week, stylish Katie!
